I have never worked with an EMR system, but it doesn't seem like you could ever completely template a medical record without losing a lot of information.

Epic
Anyone familiar with new system called Epic.  Providers pick what they want from templates to create notes and then sign off.  No need for MTs.  Is this taking over our jobs more so than voice recognition?

It's been around for at least the last 5+ years. Yes, it can be used as point and click/template system and it can also be used with VR. However, many still integrate transcription into the system as the completed work can be integrated into the Epic EMR system. I know a great deal of the larger teaching hospitals are using Emdat in conjunction with EPIC as this system is easily connected and the MT can access the demographics and the completed files can then be uploaded and entered into the EPIC system via MR#.
