the last company I worked for was small, I loved the work but couldn't depend on pay (IC status), got paid for all of December after Jan 1st and it was put on my 1099 for year 2005 (is that legal?). Not only that, the owner would twist everything, lie, pick fights, drove me nuts. I've worked for so many companies (5), I don't trust any of them! Worked inhouse for hospitals and had good and bad experiences.Getting thoroughly disgusted and fear the 2 really bad companies could bad-mouth me for future jobs (told the truth and they didn't like it).
