I wish we could offer more. We are based out of Oklahoma and our line rate here is lower than on the East and West count. I do believe we all deserve more but what can we do when the clients won't pay more. We do find plenty of transcriptionists happy with the pay, hours, and type of work. Also the 6 - 7 1/2 cents is using Abacus which counts every keystroke i.e. shifts, tabs, returns, bolding, etc. This ups the pay quite a bit when you compare an 8-9 cent line with characters and spaces only.
