It happens all the time in this business. In my book, it is lack of forethought by the manager who would hire 5 MTs to do the work of 3 because they are frankly too lazy to manage the workflow well. They are passive aggressive because good MTs make more then they do, so basically they do not care that now all 5 MTs will make minimum or less than minimum wage. It is the downside of transcription which has more downsides than upsides as of late.

Frequent posts about how hard it is to get
lines and how they can't make money. They are currently training women in Trinidad to do MT, which means it won't be long before the jobs go to Trinidad too.
She has had time to frequent these boards with every company SM
she has been with. It is a miracle she has ever gotten anything done.
