Rothman Institute hires in-house, sm

Temple may have some in-house in radiology. Diskriter has Thomas Jefferson account and I think MQ has HUP or HUP may contract to a few companies. I am not sure. CHOP is outsourced also as well as Hahnemann and Fox Chase. Albert Einstein has a few in-house positions.

Your best bet is to call them and find out.

I do know Rothman Institute for sure has in-house as they offered me a position a few weeks ago.

Christiana Care in Delaware also hires in-house.

I think they are in Philly.

Information on TRS Institute

Does anyone have experience with TRS Institute at of NC. Other than their own web site and personnel, I can find little info on them. I am been researching various courses for months and am hoping to make a final decision soon. TRS is also a transcription company that began a training course within the last couple of years.

Thanks,    Karen

Dominatrix at the Institute for the Very Very Nervous--
My husband's favorite movie! Further comment and disclosures withheld.
Or the companies that institute docking pay.
Seems to me they have a part in this whole scenario too, which is what I think the original post was about before it got turned to the MTs. Aren't they risking quality for the sake of the almighty dollar?
Do you work in-house here? I applied last August & was told in-house only and they weren't

New hires
They probably are hiring extra expecting that all might not stay, or that some won't work out.
I'm one of those new hires, and...
I hope that all the TT questions on this board are not an indication of how difficult it is to communicate with supes at TT.  What I usually do if I have non-critical questions, especially for a new employer or in any situation where I know more questions will come up over time, is I just write them down and when I have 3 or 4 I'll send off an email.  Keeps me from bombarding someone with emails when every hour another little oh what about.... pops into my mind.
Wonder why no hires in NY, CA and MO? (sm)
Live in Missouri and have never seen anything that restricted us before.
Any new hires for MDI ...sm
Any new hires completed training?  Is there enough work on your primary to keep you busy?  What has your experience been after completing your 5 reports or 20 minutes of dictation?  Please share new hires or current employees?  Thanks.
yes, new hires
do work 1 wkend day every week.

Older/previous hires only had/have to do 2 wk-end days a month.

they have a number of accounts, and i am sure they could accommodate your preference if you are fortunate enough to be hired. Very good place to work, in my opinion!!
The new hires were either CM hires (for those sm
weird schedules like Wed-Sun 2nd shift) or for the new Enterprise account that had to hire the already-existing in house MTs; those hospitals MTs came along with the package and are now Webmedx MTs. Not new hires in the sense you were meaning.
Then get an in-house job so there are no
your current position.
In house?

Just curious if that had at-home transcriptionists.  Sorry, I dont know about their testing, but I had thought about applying there before also, so will watch this thread.

In-house
Never thought I'd hear myself say this, but I would love to get back into a hospital.
In-house only. sm
They listed the opening on MTjobs.com. Check there for info.
In-House
Yesss...and that is one of the reasons hospitals began outsourcing..
That's in-house only. Tried that already... nm

If you are in house, and they are (sm)
having trouble with the home people now, chances are excellent they will continue to have the problems when you go home until they get someone out to fix it.  If all the home MT's are having trouble, then the clinic needs to get someone in to fix it.  Maybe you might have more to say about that while you're there.  Once you go home, you're stuck like everyone else.
im a in-house MT, BUT
I might sound sneaky and dishonest, but I really think that whether you're an IC or employee, they have no say. Unless it's in the contract. But then again, I really don't think they can find out. I also work for a private office consisting of 4 docs who also dictate for the hospital. That friend whom I mentioned who used to work for a vendor AND our hospitals--she now has her own business and I work under her also as an IC in the clinic setting. Our boss doesn't know this because the 4 docs I type for also dictate for 1 of our hospitals. I fear the conflict interest issue. I make $22 by the actual hour plus incentive for the hospital, but as a single parent, I need more than that. I really don't know if I could get in trouble because during my IC shift, I'm not typing for the hospital.

Good luck, I know where you're coming from as far as really wanting just 1 job but needing to live, pay bills, and eat.
in-house
I left MQ after 20+ years to go in-house. I assumed I'd take a pay cut, but because of all the changes at MQ and constant lowering of pay, I decided I'd trade the money for some security. I was totally surprised that because of my experience, I started at more than $20.00 an hour, plus shift/weekend/holiday differentials and great benefits. I did have to change my schedule slightly (working afternoons/evenings) but again the differential comes into play so made it worthwhile. Only work 1 weekend a month, no holidays (unless I want to) and the pay is hourly, no production, no worries about NJA. The future of making a living with the MTSOs seems to be more and more uncertain so in your shoes, I'd definitely look into going back in-house. Also my employer now sends their MTs home to work after training and I think a lot of other hospitals are looking at doing the same thing. I know it will be an adjustment for you not working at home, but I've never regretted it for a moment.
in-house MT now
Four months ago, I started work for a local hospital and couldn't be happier. I've been a Transcriptionist for 33 years, and this job has been a God-send. No stress, no minimum line counts, paid hourly (excellent pay) exceptional benefits, low cost health care. I had been an at-home transcriptionist for 10 years, and the work had decreased to the point that my last pay check was only $500.00 for a two week period. I was facing foreclosure on my home. On my interview, the director informed me that they had an outside company, but decided to bring transcription back in-house to be more cost effective for the department.

You set your own schedule; weekends/nights only if you want it in your schedule.  Always have work.  Good pay, good accounts, good people.

I would have to say the MTs my company hires--sm

are for the most part unable to do acute care.  Most of them seem to be from really small hospitals/doctor offices and have never been exposed to a wide variety of drugs, surgical procedures, therapies, you name it.  Most of them are also not interested in learning anything, they just want to type and get paid and have me do their hard work for them.

Who still hires SE status?

Who hires trainees?
I know this has probably been asked before, but does anyone know of companies that hire trainees?  I have a friend with some medical experience who wants to train on the job.
Any company that hires PT for 500 lph....sm
I am looking for extra work but can only commit to no more than 500 lines a day, sometimes less and allow me work any time as long as I do the lines.  I some times have slow mornings and sometimes I have slow afternoons, depending on what doctor's are on and would like to be able to fill my time in between with some extra work.

Let them train all their new hires on
My problem is that I cannot see why should I be moved to another account when my account is going to the new MT's they keep training?  Problem lies in overhiring and not enough accounts!

MDI-MD - Recent Hires

Just curious - if you had a phone interview, was the recruiter on time to call you? I had one scheduled but haven't received any contact.

Anyone else with this experience?

This is what they are currently requiring for new hires...SM
work shift either Sun-Thu or Tue-Sat, 700 lines each of those 5 days. Have to work a weekend day every week, not just twice a month like older requirements for existing employees.

MTs with at least 5 years acute care experience.  I may be wrong but I have worked there about 6 years now and that is my understanding.  Good luck to you though wherever you land!

Does DSG every hire new hires as QA?
fast at it. I also used to help other QA staff with pointers and tips that really made it user friendly.  I was an original QA guinea pig who got the original versions of QASAR to test and gave suggestions to help it along.  I loved QASAR as a feedback tool in particular. It was so nice to be able to give spot-on feedback and helpful references without having to write emails, etc.  I think I miss QAing!  Thanks for any DSG info you could pass on.  I know lots of companies don't hire QA from outside, but only promote from within. But maybe DSG might need QA who are experienced in QASAR?
layoffs and hires
Can someone explain to me why a company would lay people off and then hire new people?  Were they just getting rid of the riff-raff?
Any Webmedx New Hires?
I am interested in the current interview/testing/hiring process. I applied on-line and passed the mini-tests they give you there and heard from an admin assistant. She sent me a VERY long questionairre to fill out and turn in to the recruiter, along with my resume. I believe the next step is a phone interview.

Can anyone tell me about the interview and next steps in the process?

Thanks so much.

To those of you recent MDI hires...sm

Were you hired just by submitting your resume, or was MDI advertising for help at the time?  How long between the time you sent your resume and the time they called?  Thanks.
