Unfortunately, many people post identifying information. We try to remove names and emails, but we don't get them all. If you post your name with your situation once, then later you post only your situation they could still do a thorough search and figure out who you are.
Some of the situations given are very specific. They're so specific that some companies can figure out who you are simply by that. Keep in mind, some companies only have 20 employees, and it's much easier for them to figure out who's who. The responsibility ultimately rests on the poster, and you have to be very, very careful not to post any identifying information.
Yes, I have gotten requests for email addresses from companies regarding specific posters. I have never, ever given out an email address. This site is for MTs, and we try to protect as well as we can. Of course, we’ll also toss it if it seems a poster is simply stirring the pot.
MT Stars is a different place now. In the past some MTSOs sponsored the site, giving them more leverage in what was posted. Admin does not accept sponsorship from MTSOs any longer. There are still legal ramifications for outright libel, and that is why posts are removed or edited. We get plenty of complaints from the companies to have the negative posts removed, and sometimes we have to remove them because we can't prove which is truth. You may say a company didn't pay you, but if you say a company doesn't pay anyone...more than likely it will be removed when asked.
One last thing I can think of..when someone sends you an email through your post, it is routed through the MT Stars server. If you reply directly to that email you are not going through the server any longer. You're giving them your email address.
