I became an MT in 1982 but worked in a hospital making a very good hourly rate at the time. About 1988 I took my first at home job, making 8 cents for a gross line. I haven't done the exact calculations, but I suspect at the 8.5 to 9 cents a calculated line, I've seen a pay cut while prices have risen.
