Are there any companies that will hire PRN for IC status?
I think maybe what I need is a PRN IC job that will let me work when I need to (like when there is no work on my main account) so that Im not idle and making NO MONEY for that day or few hours or whatever it ends up being. If you know of any place that does this, please let me know.
they only hire IC status apparently. That's all I know.

I posted asking for companies who hire p.r.n. IC status sm

I am not asking for companies to contact me.  I am merely asking if there areny MTs out there who know of companies that have this as an option.  No different than any other question about companies here, such as who hire FT, PT, benefits available, etc.  This is not a job wanted posting.  This is a posting asking to give me ideas on where to start my search and if such arrangements exist.

PLEASE give people a break here, this is what this board is supposed to be for isn't it, a place for MTs to network and learn from each other?

Get the correct information or
deal with people who are putting the information out there.

I'll put my opinion and information out there as many times as I want and if you don't want to read it, don't.

The "settle down" needs to go to the whining, complaining, backbiting, miserable, disgruntled MTs who feel everyone owes them something and they are worth their weight (I won't EVEN go there) in gold for the job they do. They are getting paid. It's a capitalist society here and a free democracy. Don't like your wages? There are other companies. Don't like your line of work? No one is stopping you from re-training and getting into something else.

You are correct...I see that information now...
Thanks
Information is not correct.
Your information is wrong. Inscribe is not Dictaphone. Inscribe is the transcription piece of Emdat. Dictaphone may be utilized using a C-phone connection is some places, a dial up application, but generally in today's market only accounts needing upgrades are C-phone.
Can anyone please tell me what companies hire p.r.n. status? Cleary, I'm going to need a backup
plan through all this BEFORE Jan. 1st.  Thank you!
Are there any companies that hire emp status and let you work sort of a split?
I would like to work 6 hours during the day while kids are in school and then about 2 hours in the evening. Are there companies that will allow this? Do they have affordable benefits?
It is correct information, someone accidentally sent out an email from their Indian Team lead.

Does Transtech offer IC status??
Does anyone know if Transtech has IC status or is it only employee status?
Transtech Full time status
Can anyone tell me how Transtech defines full-time. Is it so many hours a week or based on a certain line count? Thanks.
TransTech does hire both FT and PT
TransTech is by far the best national company. I made my rounds through most of them and hated or disliked all of them to some extent until I found TransTech. You will not be sorry for making the change. They have new accounts and are hiring now.
Transtech DOES hire PT

Does TransTech hire ICs?

Does Transtech hire for VR only?
If this is all they are hiring for I will look elsewhere. tia
DM is 100% correct with that post...sm
They are a reputable company with consistent dictators, but the pay was so low that I had to find something elsewhere.
Your post is 100% correct.
Pay a living wage with health benefits and there is no job Americans will not do. The above poster regurgitates corporate elitist baloney who have a vested interest in a compliant, cheap labor supply who won't complain about wages, working conditions, or lack of benefits because they are unofficially ''invading'' parts of this country en mass while taking full advantage of our system -- yet if Americans complain about low wages, loss of jobs, and overtaxed health care and school systems as a result, they are painted as racist or xenophobic. It's about time Americans wake up to this hypocritical BS and demande that their government do the same.
The above post is NOT CORRECT
Hello,
The above post about not getting paid is not correct. We have no outstanding payment to any of our MTs and we promptly pay all our MTs every 2 weeks.

curious, does TransTech hire PT?
Do you have to punch in and out on time clock and/or are they extremely strict with working specific hours?

Apply at TransTech... they hire PT and don't have

7.5-8 cpl -see post below for 9.5 new hire
I don't understand it! Someone else said they were just hired at 9.5 cpl and the production plan was different. If this is MQ's idea of making things more consistent ----- well, I just don't know! They are going to lose A LOT of people at this rate!
You are correct. I totally read the original post wrong but
I had a long day, but that does not change the fact that the Allstate ad IS appalling. :(
UMMM - I'm not at work, no need to correct as I stated below, I know post had errors.nm

Any recent information on Transtech??
Just offered a postition with them on new account going live in a couple of weeks.  I was just wondering how they were to work for, can you make your lines, etc.  Thanks.
Please post your name so recruiters know who to NOT hire.
If you want a company who doesn't care about quality, you must be well aware already that you can't provide any.

Wal-Mart is hiring.
I agree with your post. I hire them too but the co
I just worked for did nto appreciate them. I know they are out there and go that extra mile. I want to find a company who appreciates their MTs and QA staff and who will instead of trying to get them to kill themselves recognize them for what they do and how well they do it. Sick of these companies. They appreciate no one.

There are always those who do nothing and try to make excuses for not being there, but for every 2 there are a good 5 who are hard workers and companies clump everyone together into one category, which just is not fair.
The way your grammar appears in this post, TT would probably not want to hire you.
FYI -- you sound like a foreigner to me

Any new information about Alex-Med? Last post I saw was from 2006. sm

That post was not so flattering, painting the owner in a not-so-pretty light.  Anyone work for them currently?  Any info would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Hey, GP, some people post libelous information

about companies. I hope it's not you being sued. I don't know if you ever worked for TT or not but  I've seen some of the outrageous things stated against TT and I just don't know if I would believe some of those posts. I think they may be disgruntled employees taking out their hatred on a company that, until a few months ago, had great reviews. Then someone posted a nasty comment about them and it's been going downhill since then.

This board is for comments on companies, but not some of the nastiness I've seen against TT lately so, again, I say, it all started with one disgruntled employee and snowballed from there. If they are suing someone, they must have a good reason, don't you think?

.

Whoops, the above post is regarding TransTech.

TransTech - corrected post

I was offered a position with Transtech today. The recruiter gave me a lot of info, but I completely drew a blank regarding any questions I had. I work for MQ now, and am looking to leave because I believe it is only going to get worse, and I can't take any more cuts in pay. So here goes:

1. Do they do ASR, and if so, what is their percentage of line rate (i.e., Medquist currently pays 70%).

2. Do they pay any shift differential?

3. Do they allow split shifts or 10 hour shifts for 4 days if 1 is a weekend day?

4. As far as line rate, they offered me 1.25 cents less a line than I am currently making, but their incentive program, from what I understood, seems pretty decent.

5. Are they easy to work with, QA, supervisors, etc.

Any and all information anyone can provide would be appreciated. This is a big decision I need to make by Monday, and am a little nervous, but think I would like to take the leap!

Agree..with IC status, equip. is your responsibility; employee status - you should SM
not have to pay out-of-pocket for use of their equipment. I would never work employee status for a company who required me to purchase or lease their equipment. The only thing I would find acceptable is to have a small security deposit taken out of paycheck when starting with a company. This will protect the company from those few who might abuse the equipment.
Anyone know of Escription companies that offer IC status. I do not want employee status but would
like to stick with the Escription platform at all possible.
Employee status w/benefits vs IC status??? Dilemna enclosed

I am caught between a rock and a hard place and figure this is the place to get the best advice from those in the know.  I have been an IC for the past 5 years and love the flexibility but was interested in a job with benefits.  I started a new job about a month ago with good pay (2 lph more than I was making) and benefits......very happy with company but as an employee, obviously have a schedule.  I am working both jobs currently and starting to burn out.  On the new job, I am struggling to get the 1200 lines per day required but on my old.... I can easily get 150-400 lph depending on the dictator but again, it is IC and less lph than the new job.  Obviously, the platform is different and not paid for template headers/footers wheras the old one, I am paid for those.  Now to my question.  Is it just me?  Is it because I really enjoyed the freedom of ic status and therfore seem to be struggling?   Anyone else experienced this before?  Tempted to go back told job and lose benefits/more pay because in the end, maybe it works out be the same pay because of amount of time I spend getting the job done?   Not sure if this makes sense but hoping you can all offer some advice!!  TIA

Me too. As soon as there is a little extra work they hire and hire and then noone has any. This
goes on all the time.  I get sick to death of it.  I think having 2 part time jobs is better so you have 2 jobs to count on.
