Also, please don ot change you thoughts 10 diffrent ways and then say to me forget it I will come back to this later and expect me to be okay with that.  And one other thing - SPIT OUT THE GUM
Of course you stick it out with a smile. Really. That's what I would do. sm
Remember, she probably won't last long and then you one day may have her job. Don't let one person out of other really good ones spoil your new position. If it continues longer than a month or so, go above her head and speak your concerns. She's probably just testing you. You know if you are doing a good job or not, and if you KNOW you are doing a good job, then just take her comments with a grain of salt and continue working. Don't make a huge deal out of QA people who are rude. I swear, if I did that, I would have had over 50 jobs by now! Each and every single company I've worked for (3) have had at least one Grinch of a QA person and at first I would get all upset and then I grew up and realized that they are just grinches and the kind of people who probably really, really dislike themselves, so how can they like anyone else????

Smile People!
What's with all the negativity on this board today?  Everyone needs to take a breath.  I've never seen such hostility on here before. Smile...it really isn't that bad.
I wasn't trying to be a smarta$$, that is why I put the smile at the end..
Sorry if you took it that way :)
Smile or not, your post was still incorrect
nm
Smile. Nope. I'm in this because I'm too lazy SM
and self indulgent to be management. Also really hate workplace politics. Been there long ago in another industry, done it, moved on. Isolated in the boonies now and loving the no-stress/no responsibility work we do. Haven't traded a word with my account manager (what's that title, anyway?) in months. Intend to keep on as long as allowed.
A few corrections? Must be short reports. You are lucky! Thanks for the smile/laugh! nm

This is totally off topic, but your post made me smile with the reference to Wang sm

word processors.  I remember when we got them at the hospital, I was all happy while some of the older ladies were balking at it, but the thing that sticks in my mind was a comedian at the time who did some kind of joke about, Who let some company call themselves Wang?

Anyway, it was funny at the time and this brought back a memory . I'm sorry for your situation.  I am 50 too, and although I do not live in a rural area, in fact just recently moved to the Denver area, I feel rather trapped.  I have done this since I was a junior in high school, and I really do not have any other marketable job skills.  When I see posts about wages being cut and work drying up, I panic inside and wonder what the future will hold for me.  Even if I had the money to go back to school, by the time I would graduate, I'd be an old lady anyway and probably not the best candidate for hire.

Good luck to you.
