I am a much better MT now. When I worked for Spheris, the feedback that I received was very eye opening. I realized that I was not as skilled as I thought(not even close). I actually quit during the extended trial period as I knew that I would never score 98% accuracy and did not want to continue to waste their time.
I got a friend of mine to mentor me and I helped her small MTSO out as she helped me.
There are so many people who think that being an MT is as easy as listening to a voice and typing what we hear. As you know, this could not be further from the truth. There is so much knowledge that we must retain and I learn something new almost everyday that I work.
Who would guess that the fat roll (as I call it) that hangs over your genital area had a name (pannis).
Definition: A pannis is an overhanging apron of redundant, abdominal skin.
It's a shame that we all earn such pathetic wages for being walking medical dictionaries, and it seems that new entries are constantly being added to the dictionary.
