I greatly appreciate this advice. I'm taking notes and am probably going to stay safe and put away 20%, maybe even 30%. If that's too much, just leave it in there towards next year's.
If you don't mind me asking, how well do you like IC compared to employee? I did find an insurance company with very good rates for self-employed people called Assurant, which is where my husband (also self-employed) and I are going to get it through. It's about $325 for the whole family. I just wanted to put that out there.
