I don't work there but reading your post just sickened me. NO ONE in this country should ever have to go hungry, and being expected to feed yourself (and possibly your family?) with $16 for two weeks is INSANE.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but do they have one of those food banks near you, where you could maybe go get a free bag or two of essentials to hold you over? Or is there a local Salvation Army where you can get a voucher for at least the basic groceries? If you Google charitable organizations in your area (which I had to do for a cousin once and was amazed at the places I found in her area where she could get some food for she and her children when her husband suddenly became ill and could not work), you might find a few resources to help you out in that area.

I'm pretty good at stretching a few bucks for food for a couple of weeks, but $16 to eat for two weeks seems just about next to impossible to me, and I HATE the thought of anyonein this country going hungry. No one in this great country should EVER have to go to bed with an empty stomach.

Geez, I'm gonna step down from my soapbox now, but please check around and see what charitable resources you might be able to take advantage of to get you through this hump til your next payday. My heart really goes out to you...
