The only time I tried to apply at Diskriter I had to take a transcription test and it was horrible.

The sound quality was so bad that I just could not take the test. Even though I have 14 years of experience in acute care, they would not hire me because I could not do the transcription test. I would have been happy with just a written, or even a transcription test with better sound quality. I wonder how many people were put off by that. Maybe it was just me.

Synernet Transcription..Did anyone else apply and test for them?
Just wondering if anyone has heard back. It's be nice if I would hear back, whether I passed or failed but sometimes you never do when you apply at these companies and I find that frustrating.  I'd rather know one way or the other so I can keep moving on.
WTG - DO NOT APPLY, HORRIBLE
They lie, steal, cheat, and do anything and everything but pay you!!!! RUN, RUN, RUN.
The test tape was horrible
I was really gunho when I got the tape thinking I would have no problem. The dictation was some of the worst I have ever heard in over 20 years of transcribing. I quickly realized this is an elimination tape. Before I pulled anymore hair out, I emailed to find out more about this job and to me it was not worth it. Asked about benefits, no reply at all so I assume it was all IC?? Pay was by lines.

I tossed the tape aside, forgot about it and they actually emailed wanting it back. LOL I was more than delighted to return it, then I had to find it. LOL
I am getting ready to apply with Diskriter.
Do they offer a good rate of pay? Did you get an offer from Diskriter or one of their hospitals?
I just took their test...I also have 2 other companies I'm going to apply
to...thanks for the info!
Synernet test? I get Synernet Transcription is not hiring at this time. Anyone else?

Can you tell me about the Diskriter test? sm
As I heard it is done over the phone and takes an hour and a half?! Yikes!
Diskriter interview/test sm

Can anyone tell me how the interview is with Diskriter.  How is the test?

Thanks!

Does Diskriter still have a 2 hour test over the phone? sm
I remember last year when I was interested in them the HR lady said the test was over the phone and was 2 hours long?! Is it still like that?
It took nearly a month after I passed the test before I started with Diskriter! SM

I was referred by a friend.  I spoke with the HR person, took the test, and was told I passed with flying colors.  I was told that a job offer was merely a formality and that I should go ahead and give two weeks notice at my other job which I did.  I then waited a week before I actually got an official job offer.  Then I was sent the paperwork.  It was unbelievable!  I had to have a physical exam by my physician and have him fill out their questionaire.  I had to find a drug testting facility on my own and do a drug test.  I had to have a TB test AND they wanted a chest x-ray as part of my physical exam.  Then there was the background check and reference check.  You would have thought I was going to work for the CIA and required high security clearance or something.  Then I was told there was a problem with my references.  They had asked me for two professional and two personal references which I gave them.  They called my personal references and asked them if I was a good Transcriptionist and a good employee.  Diskriter told me that none of my references were valid because no one had actually worked with me.  Then I had to clarify that they had called my personal references and if they would simply call the professional references, the would get the answers they were looking for!  It took them three more days to get it straight.

Finally, I was so fed up, I told them I refused to get a chest x-ray and I thought all of this was insane for a simple at-home job.  I was so upset because I had gone two weeks without earning any kind of paycheck while I waited for them to check how frequently I go to the bathroom!  I felt like a show dog jumping through every single hoop for a job that ended up being not worth it at all.

I feel for ya and all I can say is they weren't a bad company to work for, I just had an incompetent supervisor with very poor communicating skills.

Good luck!

Most of the time they want you to apply
NM
Horrible, horrible, horrible place. Unlike the other poster
I actually worked there.   Sound quality is horrendous.  The account I had was the worst ESL I've ever had and I do 85% ESL so I have no problems doing ESL.   Frequent management turnover.   When I was doing QA the work was so bad that I pretty much had to redo every report.  I hear about how well they pay, but they don't pay that well and certainly not enough to compensate for all the other stuff.
Wow, what a horrible time of year for them to pull something like that
I have never even heard of this company before, but after reading these posts, it sounds like they probably won't be around much longer. It kind of sounds like what happened at SPI a few months after I left. I am so sorry for the employees who were laid off, and I hope you find new jobs soon.
Is this a bad time to apply for work?
nm
Their transcription platform is horrible,
training and QA are just as bad.  I couldn't get out of there quick enough.
Can you apply and ask for 1 particular office or does MQ assign you per the need at the time? Used
,
Is this a good time to apply at Transtech?

Phoenix Medcom- Another apply a few months back, ask to take a test and never heard back??
I applied a month or two ago, received an email from someone asking if I would take a test and said she was getting ready to go on vacation for a week, so I hurried and immediately and told her I'd love to take the test. I never heard back. I waiting thinking she went on vacation and would contact me when she got back to do the test but nothing...very strange..Just wondered if this happened to anyone else.
Augusta Medical Transcription, did anyone apply?

I passed the first part of the test and was sent a CD to complete the typing portion.  Yes, a CD.  I thought this was a little different instead of a voice file...a little antiquated and cumbersome to say the least.  Does anyone work for them or have worked for them?

Worked there 2 years ago..horrible, horrible, horrible.
Would totally avoid them at all costs.
PAID DOWN TIME by Diskriter - sm
Who are they kidding? I have to agree with the above poster, Diskriter does make Medquist look like a wonderful company. IT EVEN MAKES Spheris LOOK GOOD!

By the way, when did Diskriter start hiring PT????
Part-time with Diskriter
Actually, I was first offered a FT job and told that they do not hire PT. I told them I was not interested in FT. I was called back the next day and told they found a spot for me for PT. From what I have read here, I think I will go with Landmark unless a better offer comes up.
Diskriter pays on time
Diskriter has been in business for a long time. It is an established professional organization.
Me, too! The last time I took an oral test sm
the recruiter called so early in the morning that she woke me up. I had to whiz like a racehorse, was half asleep, and had not had my cup of tea. Got all correct without references. Shouldn't we KNOW our stuff WITHOUT CHEATING? Geeze. Many of us have had to/will have to transcribe reports under stress (stats), that we should ALL be able to do an oral test over the phone. Shame on you for advising people to cheat.

Is the third time a charm? DISKRITER info?
.
Don't waste your time. Took a ridiculous test
Absurd. The test had so many holes in it, with areas where more than one answer could apply. It was ridiculous. And, I'm not a newbie - been doing this for 15+ years. I am now working IC for two companies, loving it. You can try it if you want, but I think the test was crazy.
I know nothing. Why wouldn't you want to do a transcription test?
It'd give you an idea of the quality of the work you're getting yourself into.
Acusis transcription test
Has anyone taken the test for Acusis?  I attempted to take the test...first of all they warn you right off that it will take 3 hours, and that you have to complete the test in 3 hours, nonstop.  So I thought I could handle that but once on the site I find out you cannot use a foot pedal but have to use function keys for the dictation (but of course the function keys didn't work for me) so I had to manually stop the dictation plus you could not slow the dictation down.  After doing 1 report and an hour was up, I decided it just wasn't worth it.  Did anyone else experience these problems.  If not, how did you get through the test? Thanks for you help.
Time to jump in here. Some MTs test well, interview well, only put references on there
that are perfect and basically SUCK when it comes right down to it.
SoftScript is the worst - horrible accounts, horrible management, don't go there! nm
nm
horrible, horrible contact person! Worst experience ever. SM
Turned it down because of the arrogance and attitude.

That was not long ago. Ads run every 2 - 3 months.
I have taken the transcription test also yesterday and have not heard from them yet?

Do you have any update with your application?  I wonder how the company is?

Even so, it is very unprofessional and rude to not reply back when someone took the time to test!!

But this wasn't your transcription test. She just asked you questions,

Horrible accounts, horrible sound quality, etc
The only time SoftScript would not be wonderful is if you aren't doing your job. They are an extremely professional company. Sounds like someone may not have lived up to their standards.
Horrible, horrible place. Lots in the archives.

mine called during a time I had NOT given; then emailed with No Answer, So Go On-Line And Test;
nm
I applied at Webmedx, took test, passed, and they said no to my part-time schedule.
Maybe call and ask before you waste your time like I did.
I have 14 years of experience and I bombed the transcription test. Where oh where did I go wrong..
Oh well, I was offered a QA position at our local hospital so it worked out.
Diskriter and Precyse supply puters. Opti-Script in Penn. used to, and Charts in Time (CIT) in Fla.

I would not work for OSI because their online transcription test was so cumbersome w/o foot pedal
It took me 15 minutes to transcribe 30 seconds of dictation because so much time was wasted rewinding and fast forwarding with the mouse. I did not want to work for a company that could not even figure out to make the online test reasonable.
Usually a spelling test, a punctuation test, and maybe 3-6 test files to do. Sometimes done using

Horrible company, horrible dictators, ESL
at its absolute worst, sound quality horrible.  The MTs I did QA for were horrendous.  They made up words, obviously didn't use a spellchecker, couldn't get the hang of something as simple as copying and pasting Preop diagnoses to postop diagnoses and would type same again and again.  QA manager would send out updates for new drugs, equipment and have things misspelled, frequently got e-mails that evidently were sent because someone wanted to feel important, absolutely no useful information, management problems, lots and lots of turnover, including management.    The CEO has no clue about transcription and is in it for the money.  After talking with him you feel like you need a shower.
Horrible platform. Horrible communication.
Horrible people who say one thing and then when you do what they say, they get mad and act ugly.

Enough of a bone?
Anyone know anything about On-Time Transcription?

They contacted me today from an old resume on a job board.  They gave no information as to line rate, platform, equipment, etc.   I did a Google search and their website is not very professional and provides no information at all.   I've done an MT Stars search and after going through several pages don't find anything, though I'm sure I've seen at least a post of someone asking about them in the last few months.

I'm not really looking for a position, though I'm always open if a better situation came along.   I received their e-mail too late to contact them back today to ask them these questions myself.

Transcription time
Hi Guys!  I know this question has been asked before but I can't seem to find the info.  Can someone again please tell me approximately how long it takes to transcribe an hours worth of dictation assuming the dictation is H&Ps, consults, etc.. for family medicine, OB/GYN & ortho.  Thanks for any info you can provide.  I am slowly getting back into the business but don't want to take on too much.
Transcription Time

Thanks guys!  That helps tremendously.  Lucky for me, no ESLs.

On-Time Transcription
Anyone working there or have worked there?  What are the advantages and disadvantages?  Any and all info is greatly appreciated!!!!!
