There is no one mandating pay dates, but typically

pay periods run from the 1st to the 15th and from the 16th to the last day of the month.  Actual pay dates vary, but the 20th and the 5th are pretty common.  The majority of companies follow this pay period, some pay every 2 weeks, a very few pay weekly and a very few pay monthly, but the majority pay as I stated.

I think work is typically slow this time of year sm
and I am surmising they are not wanting a backlog to build because a lot of MTs are also taking time off for the holidays leaving a skeleton crew on some accounts. I am sure it will all be busier than ever in a week or so.  I have been able to get my line counts and then some everyday so far.  Everywhere I have ever worked gets a little slow towards the holidays.

Question re pay dates for Webmedx. sm

I have the list that says nonexempt and exempt.  Nonexempt is employee, correct?  or do I have that backwards?

Also, as an example, it says this pay period for nonexempt runs 03/27 to 04/09, with pay date on 04/17.  Pay days are really Monday?  Are the ever there early, maybe Friday or Saturday?

Thanks!

Are there any companies with pay dates of 5th and 20th out there? nm

Employee dates did not change; ICs are paid on 2nd and 16th now because
they are not supposed to be paid the same as employees. Were you an IC?

you were being used for their transcripition. How sad our industry is coming to that. To use people who need the money for free. I was in your position and got evicted, had to live with my daughter, lost my car, and was in a depression for 6 months and didn't even know it. I thought I was just shocked. This was with a company who changed the platform (for the worst) and my paycheck was cut in half, but not my bills. They didn't even have the courtesy to tell me this was going to happen, they thought we would quit, so I know what you are going through. Just keep working your other jobs, don't lose confidence (I know I did). It is difficult out there right now with so many transcriptionists out of work. Just don't PANIC (hard not to do in desparate situations). What jerks!
A company is ONLY supposed to verify that someone worked there, what dates they worked, whether PT o
and last date worked. It opens everyone up to a lawsuit if more is given, so most companies are told by their attorneys and business advisors to verify only.

No one has a right to a reference, only verification of employment.
