(it is automatically set up so if you enter you know who is posting . . name displayed)and the other employees and management was nasty as h++ so believe me I wouldn't post any thing on the private board negative. I have already resigned. I have a week left.

Seems communication at Transtech is lacking in some way.

You make 40-50K a year? You obviously work for someone 0ther than MQ.
It is more venting than anything probably.
I went through all the channels when I had issues, all the way to the top, and despite promises to fix things they weren't.  There were positivies, they just didn't outweigh the negatives.

Sheesh! This is a MT board where you can vent about MT things like not having enough work. She may be looking for work. It may be she just hasn't had success.
Venting
I know the feeling. The company I work for now is very overstaffed, now no work for tomorrow. I came from an hourly salary to working by line cause my hospital outsourced. I have also taken 5 typing test from another company plus a written test and I still have not heard back one way or the other. It would be nice just to let a person know one way or another if they passed or failed. I am so tired of taking tests. I have been doing this for 30 years. I am seriously thinking about going to school for Medical Billing, but that will probably dry up too.

The Americans in some form or fashion have done ourselves in trading with other companies and now what does America go and do, but Outsource just about everything. I feel now we have tightened the noose too much. It is just horrible everywhere. I currently work two jobs and these two jobs are drying up too. I am getting physically and emotionally tired.

thank you, very helpful Not to disclose rates hey, hmmm. Know what I do, I email first and ask the lowest to highest so both sides don't waste valuable time and would be happy to then send resume or test and many/most do respond.
Transend
Any information on Transend, example 4.5 hours training and then another hour of doing  sample reports with feedback.  Plateform difficult? Anybody
I will have a new job, but it won't be with TRANSEND
I refuse to work for a company who is going to lower our compensation rates, send our work out to India or do a majority of it VR....no way!!

With all the extra I time I put into MDI because we would receive countless emails about helping out, that she is helping us save our jobs BS, I refuse to go with another company that is looking for someone to work for pennies. Reading prior posts, it does not seem Transcend MTs are really happy with their company. I refuse to sell my soul to the devil like Dorothy did!
Who was venting? I asked
you to come nosing in with your helpless and rude comments.  I wasn't complaining.  I know my superiors are very busy and I just thought maybe a current Medware MT could help me out while I wait for a response.  Instead, you have made it a big huge long drawn out one-sided conversation from my simple questions.  Guess we all know that must mean you are a very boring person with nothing better to do with your life.  You don't know the circumstances of my hire.  I was offered a job and turned it down.  A few months later I returned and they got me set up right away and neglected to send me all the new hire information.  Not that it was any of your business anyway.....

Is that the MDI in Florida or Maryland?  Wondering.
I don't know anything about Transend, but they can't possibly
me worse than SoftScript.  If you read back through old posts there are lots of posts about both of them. 
Transend acquistions
I was sold  toTranscend as part of a package as well. I was happy with all of the personnel (QA, team leads etc) in my previous company..........good responses to IMs, emails etc. They have   left now Trascend for other opportunites. Honestly I am not sure why, but cannot imagine it was because they were happy.
Transend/MDI pay cuts
To all Transcend MTs, I am syaing without any form of hostility, welcome to our world. I am wondering if any of you have the answers to the questions us MDIers have been asking: Is IC still an option? Will be be limited to a 40-hour work week? Will our schedule include 1 weekend day EVERY weekend? What happens if we can't (because of lack of work) meet our commitments? Can we expect a cpl drop? Will we be forced to VR? Will we have a set schedule or can we work when we want? How is the current work flow, is there enough for everyone? What percentage of work is being outsourced and what are the projections for next year?

These are questions that us MDIers cannot get answered. Do you Transcend MTs have any REAL and credible answers?

Who says the posters aren't thankful for their job. The majority of all jobs have negatives and these boards let people let off steam...
Venting is fine. But when continues on and on and
time to stop and DO something about it.  Take action and I dont mean MORE whining.

VENTING - Focus Hocus Pocus
 FYI to anybody who might consider working for Focus.   My brief stint with them was absolutely horrible.  What a waste of my time! They are just ridiculous to expect an MT to sit and "keep checking every 3-4 hours" for work....Hello!   There is plenty of work out there, but they are so backward in their process of distributing it that later on they are looking for people to jump in for extra time...to help them get out of the hole they dug for themselves while they were not paying attention to the work waiting to get transcribed!   Just total dumb-bells!!!!
Address the same as Transend Services - HMMMMM ???

Venting- how can you make money or get line counts when all the work is given to someone else!

No affiliation with Transend, but that was a DAMN good post and fall under
all companies, all posts. These same "cheerleaders" have posted negative on other companies IM SURE, but yet when they find their place they think it okay to bash others who have not. Very annoying. There is nothing wrong with giving neg/pos on companies, but it should NOT lead to an argument, bashing, etc. When making a decision a pro/con list is very affective and those looking for a new company or doing just that by reading this information. I have turned jobs down solely for the "attitudes" of the cheerleaders. I figure if they have people that snotty and high and mighty working for them, I don't want to be in that category or atmosphere!!

I used to work for TT, and yes, they are wonderful people -- very caring and supportive -- but in order to get my lines in, I had to be VERY flexible, working on my days off, during times I wasn't scheduled, etc., and it gets old pretty quickly.  I personally didn't care for the e-mails calling me sweetie or telling me you rock, but that's just me.  I just want to be paid well and have plentiful work.  I do not know if they just overhire or what happens, but I finally left because I couldn't stand the feast or famine work flow there.

PRIVATE?
Not these days. Many MTs are also MTSOs, so I wouldn't count on PRIVACY wherever you intend to go with this. As both, I would be willing to share what I know with my colleagues if I felt it was to their benefit. Multiply me by many and there goes your site of shame. Good luck to you too! Hope you can CYA sufficiently to avoid problems for yourself. You should be nicer to these MTs. They help pay your salary. Maybe MTs should do away with recruiters? Too many middlemen drive up the price and the providers would benefit from the absence of all the middlemen in all areas that try to get a piece of the action in their practices. Maybe without you all it would benefit the greater good. Something to think about, eh?

I have every right to warn people against working for an employer who BREAKS THE LAW. I have PROOF to back me up on everything I have said this company does!

My husband is trying to change careers so I went looking for a new MT job instead of being an IC since his new career takes 6 months for the insurance to kick in. We are going to check all our options but I believe we will go private instead of spending nearly $1000 a month on it
You can get a private policy for less than that and probably
better insurance too.   At that price I don't think they are absorbing any of the cost, so it really isn't a benefit.

Why not just get a private policy? Unless you have
pre-existing conditions you can get your own policy that may be cheaper than what you can get through work and then you aren't tied to a company for insurance only and you don't have to worry about a lap in insurance if you change jobs.

I can get a private policy for a family
of 4 for about $400 and that is with very good coverage.   We have no pre-existing conditions though and no chronic medications.
