The difference between accountants and CPAs. Only a CPA has actually certified their skills. They get paid more, have much higher value in the work place, have professional associations and networking beyond what someone with just an accounting degree does.

And now, it will be even more so. Now, you are required to have 30 hours past your bachelor's to even sit for the CPA exam - it's called an MCA.

Again, if we want to be recognized as professionals we will need to be willing to:
1. Behave like professionals
2. Value education and credentialing as professionals do
3. Take some personal responsibility for our own skills, as professionals do
4. Look at the bigger picture, not just at the up close personal gain

I'm behind the AHDI and MTIA for this. However, I think it will more than likely fail and due to one reason only: MTs who are stagnant in their thinking and want something for nothing.
