This scares me!

I have been working for AllType for almost a year as an Editor and compared to the other companies I have worked for, I love AllType.  I never run out of work, except for around holidays, which is understandable.  My pay has never decreased and the quarterly bonuses are great.  I have nothing bad to say about this company at all, but all this talk about people getting dropped for no reason really scares me!

What scares me is....
Most of the info on the patient info screen is confidential. My better half works for the dept. of defense. If they knew that one of their employees' confidential info such as SS#, etc., that they pay millions of dollars a year to provide secret clearances for their employees, to protect our country, was going out to a 3rd world country when one of their employees' is realeased from the hospital....hummm, I'm thinking they would really like to know about this.  This is a serious, serious problem. Serious problem.
WOW! It always scares me when..
I see job cuts in jobs that I could potentially apply for.. I feel for all of them. Ugh, every single time an MT loses a job due to outsourcing, downsizing, offshoring, NO WORK.. I say a little prayer to the MT Gods.. :(
What scares me is a drop in pay beginning today.
Certainly, not the training; certainly not being out of comfort zone. In all my years as an MT I have gone through many changes. What I don't like is being put in a position where I put a question mark next to my check for the next rent, and for the future... That is what I am scared of...
Doesn't it make sense to be frightened of a sudden drop in pay when you have no other income to depend on? If I were salaried I certainly would not be afraid of anything... I would enjoy learning something new... but this is like no safety net.
Also, my car loan as well as my landlord expect me to have the same or better income on my paystub... what am I supposed to tell them about a drop immediately in the same job? They would certainly be afraid if they knew this were happening.
Do you know what scares me? The great disservice you are doing to the people whose medical reports
