Those are definitely text book anxiety symptoms

Posted By: ERMT on 2008-02-01
In Reply to: I have to vent, as I am sitting here SM - Venting.

You may want to see if you can get something for your anxiety; something that will not make you drowsy if you take it during the day. Good luck.

I get those symptoms with anxiety sm
Maybe see about getting something for anxiety or taking a Benadryl - antihistamines are help for anxiety in OTC form (use them as a nursing student in mental health) I would also see if you could switch schedule if you want, be honest, tell them it causes you physical symptoms - they should understand
Symptoms
Paranoia AND ofractory issues since you always *smell* something that isn't present.

Both sound like symptoms of schizophrenia.

Hmmmm...
Sted's Ortho Words, a lab words book, at least 1 drug book, and your AAMT BOS 2nd

anxiety
I agree. I have the same problem, have had it for years. Not your fault, nothing you did or did not do. Hang in there.
I had a crushing headache too, sign of anxiety, high BP
Do go to the doc. It is stress, most likely and that is something that is not your fault. They will be able to help you big time. I have had stress and anxiety which are situational for years. For some reason, I guess, I get myself into situations in which I have to deal with high maintenance people and jobs, and I forget about myself, until literally my smoke stack blows. My doc repeatedly says it is not me it is the situation. Yesterday again, (also a Friday) I got the crushing headache. So, since it was my day off (luckily) I took a alprazolam every few hours which the doc gives me for certain times, and buspar and the 2 helped me to see the light by the end of the day of resting. These things force you to rest. I don't believe the doc wants me to avoid situations by resting, but sometimes the pressure is too much in the situation and if you cannot change it at the time, you have to bear it. Believe me Tylenol, Ibuprofen, nothing worked on this headache.
Do check it out. It is the job, and your situation, the doc will be honest with you. And as mine said, look at the big picture not day to day. If in the big picture this situation continues you have to change it for your own sake and make things better in the big picture. If it is just now, you can live through it. Good luck to you. You are not alone. And, take it from me, it will never go away 100%, but stress management through cognitive thinking, the right medicines if you need it and exercise will do the trick.
Transcend has Escription and EX text. Medware has ex-text.

Deventure I know has Escription but I am not sure if they hire PT or not.

Yes I thought it sounded nice. Just hard to change but it is time. Always a little bit of anxiety
about another company and leaving what you know and sort of starting over but sometimes it is time. You know, the fat lady sang.
What law? There's no law. There was a book (sm)
by a conservative that came out, which is what started this whole heightened nonsense over Merry Christmas vs. Happy Holidays. That book has effected a nice smokescreen to get away from the real issues plaguing the party, such as illegal wiretapping.
maybe in your book but not for an MT who is a

They are in my book.

What are you writing, a book
x
About the book/tests - have you not ever sm
done any in-depth research into the field you are working in?  Had you done that, you would have probably ended up at the AHDI site at some point (creator of the BOS) or MTChat or here - references to BOS and tests come up daily.  How could you have been working and not know there was a BOS?
Re The Book of Style
Just a short note to say, you really need to learn the BOS, even if you don't think you need to, and no matter what anyone else tells you, for your own knowledge, you need to know the basics--the style basics. We all had/have to do it, you are not alone. It's all a part of the game. :)
I agree 100% with you. The book is sm
correct 99.9% of the time. Once in awhile you will find something wrong, but then you just write it in and change it. You never know on the internet. I don't think there is any substitute for sitting down with a book and doing research. I do understand that in this day and age it is not cost effective to do that. That is why I still believe that it is a disservice to MTs not to be able to work in-house for several years before going home!
with a book you wouldn't need sm
suggestions now would you. There would be an entry and it would be correct. Also there are still some places that don't do voice files through the internet so it wouldn't matter if the internet was down or not.

Obviously there IS A place for the internet but to say you can't or won't use books anymore is crazy!
a 1-hr window is NOT flexibility in my book.

Those of you that have the book, can you figure out what she is asking. I'm very curious too. B

That's fast in my book. I can't do that. Great job! :) nm
s
Correct - I don't want to write a book.
If you want more information, please email me. I can only say what I experienced.
All those are Negative points in my book! Keep looking, please! nm
s
So? BOS is just book by ladies with too much free
x
I seen a book on ebay or amazon once...sm
and it tells you how to start your own MT business. I was looking for reference books and it popped up. I had typed in medical transcription books or something like that.
Go to the library and check out the book
do you a lot of good to read that.
Book of Style 2nd Edition
This says without the apostrophe is preferred but that the apostrophe is acceptable if that is what's dictated and/or the client wants it that way.
This book was written well before Vista came out. sm
So to say no may not be correct. I would email Cheryl and just ask her. HTH!
Hot darn it is in the Ahdi book.

The only time QA makes me pound my head is when they are correct and it can be seen in print.

Also, the new Nuance 7.5 VR is so smart. . .it remembers corrections you make. The whole page(s). Start planning. . .this one is top notch. . .better than the first. No more overtime. No more parttimers.

source, please? In my hard book
Webster's there is only an e, no y. Need to know if this has changed and I don't trust Google on everything.
It is an open book 50 question quiz

I enjoyed taking it, may take the job if they offer, I need to get some additional memory in my computer but that should not be too difficult, about $35 for another 256MB.

Can anyone recommend a good reference book
for radiology. I just started on a rad account in training. I love it so far but would like a good radiology terminology book that especially contains terms for MRIs and CT scans. ALso, can anyone tell me what the average rate is per report for radiology? Thanks!
Some emails are missed and not in their address book
nm
What?! Do you have your number listed in the phone book?
This is the same info they can get out of the phone book, i.e., name, address, and phone number. This is not what they use to commit identify theft. They would use the general information from your resume to phish for more detailed information, such as SS# or bank account/cc account info. This is also what they would get out of your trash if for some reason you don't shred this info before you throw it out. Also, with past employers, they are only allowed to give basic info, such as length of employment and whether you're eligible for rehire. They can be held legally responsible if they give out detailed information about you!

I am very realistic that I'm not immune to identify theft, but also I know the law and know that I shouldn't be paranoid about someone stealing my identity. I take the appropriate steps to protect myself and monitor my credit report frequently.
The book contains suggestions. They don't write the rules
they merely published them in a format convenient for us to review - save your anger for the JAHCO and the American Medical Association.
area cod is 877 (dont have phone book with me)

DocQscribe is the best in my book! You just type. Very easy, nm
nm
Look in phone book or google for your area
Free legal aid or legal assistance. I know it exits in my area, southern California, I used it once.

This seems way out of line. Google attorney general for your state, here in California it is Jerry Brown and look for an email address and send in a question. I know I have read of scams in newspaper they have gone after, like the home loan modification scammer etc.

This is really really bad, so sorry it happened but don't give up, there must be a loop hole, how can that be OKAY??? Huh
Reference book, office supplies, equipment. nm

I type radiology and the ortho book helps
I also had to get a medical & surgical words book to help with some of the procedures. They were well worth the money - got mine on ebay pretty cheap.
I SAW a book on it once, too. It was called The Independent Medical Contractor.
nm
I use Stedman's Orthopedic and Rehab Words book..
and Google is also a good research tool :)
Here is my advice.......RUN, do not walk to the nearest phone book. sm
Look up Legal Aid of whatever city or state you live in. They are a group of lawyers and paralegals that do work for free or sliding scale, etc. They will do all the leg work for you. You supply them with copies of your documentation and any other records you have kept regarding email, snail mail, or phone calls.

The most important thing... when you talk to and deal with these people, document, document, document. Document EVERYTHING

Then go to the Better Business Bureau and let them know what is going on.

Call your state Atty General's office and tell them what is going on and give them copies of any documentation you have.

Then I would quit. I know she probably can't afford to and it is experience she may not be able to get anywhere else, but as the post below said, they aren't going to give her a good reference anyway if they have not responded to her mail and phone calls.

Let us know how it goes. Keep us posted.

This book is going to change our lives and it is very important to share information with each other

Tessier Surgical Word Book is my bible, but mostly you need LOTS of patient

Sine you have access to the address book in Outlook just send the email to the entire team?

PS about Ex-Text
I don't think it is Ex-Text that makes it hard to get lines, it is the way the company has Dictaphone set up the line count on their web site. But why work for a company you have to contantly make copies of your reports and reverify the line counts to make sure they are not cheating you? We are not paid enough to spend another hour at the end of the day to double check your line counts. You can do that and then fight with them but believe me they are going to win because they hold all the horses.
Ex Text
You can get your line count counting by the Word program counter within the program itself by clicking on tools and then scrolling down to word count, however, this is not how ExText lines are counted. There is about a 20-30% difference per report LESS with their way of counting. The company sets the way they count lines and they don't match up. Also, the sessions function in the program is BLOCKED. You have to go to the Dictaphone website to get a total line count, but no break down of how many reports or how many lines it counted for each report. Even using a word Expander program and typing as fast as you can, I think the average person can probably only make 800-1000 lines or less per 8 hour day on this system, may even have to work longer to accomplish this much. I myself am worn out and totally disgusted that a company would call itself anything less than a big cheat and shame on them!! I am moving on out and believe me as soon as I find something else, I will blast this company on every board I can find.
Ex-Text
The company that I work for says that you cannot have two versions of Ex-Text on your computer.
Text only
Transciption Relief Services (TRS) does not do VR. They have decent accounts, no pay issues, good benefits except the medical insurance decuctible is a bit steep ($1000) good communication and grew a lot during the year I was there. I left recently over some personal issues. They were set for new accounts over the summer. When I left a month ago, they were a bit low on work, but not as bad as some. Still, I think it might be worthwhile to check out their website since they don't always advertise.
Beyond Text
Does anyone who has used Beyond test find that it is extremely slow, even the ASR is slow add to that an ESL and your almost at a dead stop? Please tell me how it is for the rest of you???????????????????

Lee VR to TEXT
Lee,

I will be more than happy to tell you. I more than doubled my line count with VR and still did not come out ahead. I would rather type it myself using my ShortHand and templates (much slicker). VR cannot figure out what ESLs are saying any better than I can, in fact a lot worse! Also, the other day, I had a 33-minute report (most of it instrumental music). If you can believe this, the VR typed paragraphs of jibberish for the music, just unbelievable? If doctors knew what their reports looked like before we edit them, they would come unglued. Get all the doctors front-end machines and let them go to work - I would love to see it.javascript:editor_insertHTML('text','');
Instant text and OSI
When I was there about six months ago, I used IT and it worked fine. You need an expander to make any money there....and still not easy to make with the system/amount of demographics you have to enter.
I use Instant Text sm

I use Instant Text with EXText without a problem.

I believe the EXText software is better than some, and certainly better than DocQScribe.

I think the pay is fair -- the more difficult accounts are paid at a higher rate.

The real problem with OSi is running out of work due to overstaffing, even with backup accounts.  The flip side is the bonus program for high production when the account falls behind.  Seems like am employee stability problem for some reason I can't figure out.
