Umm, MDI doesn't know who she is by her post so she isn't obligated to give a good exp.

Posted By: You speak personally for Carlotta, huh? lol sm on 2008-08-27
In Reply to: While I'm sure MDI-MD appreciates your loyalty - I would bet money they don't

I'm sure MDI doesn't appreciate the lies and people posting like they know something when they don't but I doubt they mind someone posting in their defense re: pure crap posts.

You are not obligated to give them a written explaination...but...
Some companies won't allow you to test again for at least a 6 month period after testing. If you are interested in applying with them then I would email them back stating that you are definitely interested in proceeding with your interveiw/testnig, however unfortunately since receiving their last email that you suffered an injury to your hand/and wrist. I would state that it is not a permant injury, however you would like to see if you could get an extension of about a week or so to allow the hand to fully heal. If they want you bad enough they will wait. Don't burn any unnecessary bridges.
How is turning you down for a position rude? Are they, or any other company, obligated to give you
No. As a recruiter, I am seeing this more and more. Maybe the hours you were available did not match what they needed. Maybe your equipment or speciality or background did not match. How is it rude not to hire someone? There would be no need for interviews if everyone was just hired because they applied. I did not understand most of this until I started recruiting. The company I work for is spoken well of on this board and then bashed at other times. I see a lot of people that think they are entitled to a position or a shift or a certain account. It is difficult to be on this side.
MDI doesn't give raises.
x
Anyone self-employed doesn't get a raise unless they give
p
Clever way to give-up a company name that doesn't

What other profession do you know of that doesn't give a yearly raise?
The MTSOs raise their rates each year . . . . . . . .
Thanks. So I guess it is close, then? Yeah, I wonder why it doesn't give you the # of reports Th
nm
No of course not, nor are they obligated to do that
You fail, you fail. I agree with the other poster...why give them the answers, so they can have all the answers in hand when they apply and test again in six months? Not.
Get an IC position and then you aren't obligated to
a set schedule, just number of lines or minutes, but that still could be an issue if you have lots of work with primary account and you don't feel like doing extra work on those days.
You mean she doesn't post her name (nm)

doesn't anyone else here think the timing of this post is

KyMT read her post below...she doesn't
work weekends or evenings anymore because she has been doing this for years and refuses to be a slave now. Hypocritical huh?
Your post doesn't answer the question I asked.

You said you LIKE to pay your bills, you have a good rapport with your supervisor, you're flexible.  Does "you're flexible" mean that you work in addition to your 8-hour shift when the work load is low to make your 20K lines per pay period?

In case this company doesn't see this post, email them and tell them
y
You're right...that post doesn't make any sense...sm
How could high producers mess things up for the rest of us, when, in the past few weeks, we were offered incentives on most of the accounts to keep them in TAT by working extra??  And how could a responsible member of management even state something to that effect?  The only logical conclusion is that this particular poster wants to discourage high production (on his-/her OWN accord) in other MTs to keep the pickings greener for him-/herself.
I can also give you a positive post. sm
I also work at Spheris and have had a very good experience. Great supervisor, good accounts, nice team.
I would give them a try, you hear good and bad, but mostly good. nm

your post doesn't make much sense. Find another job then? That's what the rest of us do!

Doesn't sound good
I did not know they outsourced to India. No wonder they are paying the Transcriptionist so darn cheap. People in India can live off making very low pay. I better look elsewhere. Thanks for your advice.
Thanks!...Doesn't sound so good! lol n/m

Doesn't do any good to go to the media; i.e., TV

I sent letters and emails and watched their programs.Never a word mentioned.

One idea might be a Letter to the Editor of your local newspapers. That should get some people riled up in the local area. That's my next step. Government agencies aren't going to help. They're the ones who want this, so big business can profit.

yeah, it really doesn't look good at all
if they are as bad as a lot of people say they are, they really need to get it together before sending out them ads. scccaaaarrryy
and just because you have been an MT for 20 to 30 years doesn't mean you are good at it...
nm
Hmm..that doesn't sound good. Thx for sharing. NM

Thank you - that doesn't sound good. Continuing to look ......nm

Doesn't that hospital MT job for Smartmed look really good?

10-12 cpl, lots of PTO, all basic-4 - Has anyone applied yet?  I don't know if I want to go FT these days, but that sure looks enticing.  I am curious as to what they count as a line.  Can anyone share their experience regarding this ad, or this company?

Phew...! Doesn't sound good! sm msg

It sounds as if the owner loses her cool!  Not good!  Thanks!

Superior offshores, Pro doesn't have a good

reputation.  I can't see anything good coming out of it.

This good Christian company doesn't pay their MTs. nm

I'm so sorry to hear this. It doesn't sound good. I hope you

You can post a resume unlike the one you provided your current employer and give yourself

a name like Provided Upon Contact.  Set up a hotmail or yahoo email and go that route.  When services contact you (and they will if you have what they're looking for) and it's not the service you work for presently, then you can respond to them.

Good Luck.

Cbay doesn't sound good. Glad I left
the Q when I did.  I really hashed over that decision, but I am so glad I did.  There will be a lot of people looking for work very soon.  I wouldn't wait around until all the good spots are filled.
Give me the good points on your MQ offices - sm

No flames!  Give me the good points on your MQ office that you work for i.e. leave you alone, great platform, no schedule necessary, nice people, easy to learn, nice work, etc.

Thanks!

Can anyone give info on Sten-Tel? Good or bad? Thanks.

Merry Christmas all!

Can you give specifics? Are the benefits at least any good? nm
nm
No, she needs to give me a good e-mail address
Applied twice for the job but with email address that bounces.
Maybe their supervisors give them the good stuff on
complain to upper management or HR, you get ignored because the supervisor always covers herself with lies and/or using TAT as the excuse.  Sit on that TAT and rotate.
The only good thing about OSI is when you give them your notice that you are leaving!

Tested for WebMedX, could anybody give me the good, bad and the ugly on them. NM
Thank you.
Beware of really good marketers. They spin. The marketer doesn't make your schedule. nm
x
Good luck to you and please report back after you're working with them to give us
s
Yes, pay on time. We give a 2-week schedule. Accounts pretty good

Can anyone give me good or bad on Medical Records Corporation or Transcription Relief Services? nm
xx
Good post
These are all things many MTs apparently don't look at. Low rates offered because you can work at home. The only thing you save is commuting cost. They save tons and tons. You should be getting pd more for at-home work, not less.

From what I see in the MT world, these folks are so busy trying to undercut each other's prices rather than acknowledging the amount of education needed to do a good job and getting higher rates.

Did you know that the AAMT was trying to get legislation passed that will prohibit anyone not certified by them from working in the field? You think about that next time you think those little initials at $350 mean something.
Good post. (nm)
(no really - no message). :oD
Good post!
Totally agree with you, Sally!!

Good post...

Good post.!
''language barrier''--LOL.
Good post. One has to have...
a cushion in this business. If you have done this work for any length of time you should know that there are times of feast or famine. BTW, love Dave Ramsey, hubby and I are going to see him in a couple of weeks. He has good, sound advice regarding money management and not living beyond your means.
