Well..

IC versus employee:  IC double SS, because when you are an employee your employer pays half of the SS.

I don't know if it is the same percent in every state, so check with your local tax person, but in Ohio I know:

IC versus employee:  IC pays 15% and employee pays 7.5%/employer 7.5%.
