I had been reading great things about my new MTSO on the boards here, so as soon as they advertised for an opening that fit my skills, I immediately sent a resume. I had a lengthy telephone interview and didn't have to test; they shipped everything out the next day so I could get started, so I didn't have the need to research something else out on my own.

Unless you Google MT companies (or something similar) and just kind of check the links out yourself, I'm not quite sure how one would go about finding the more inconspicuous companies.

I do know that when that very small MTSO in Maine advertised not too long ago, I found myself in awe of their website and their tiny little store-front office and fabulous looking little town. Until they posted here, I'd never heard of them either.

Well, I'm pretty much just rambling with no helpful suggestions so I'll just wish you luck and see what everyone else has to offer in this area.
