What a tale of woe I have to tell you....sm

I have been there several years and am leaving; my last day is next Tuesday. It used to be a great place to work and I never had any complaints until the last few weeks.

1. Most work has become ASR. It's the way of the industry nowadays, but on top of everything else, it's harder to take. 2. They have cut ASR pay to match industry standards. Can't blame them for that, but again, on top of everything else...
3. Most rarely have their primaries or even secondaries much anymore. They have a national work pool now. This means that an MT could have several reports for accounts she has never seen before, which means corresponding client profiles with each one wanting things done differently. That slows things waaaaaaaaay down.
4. Supervisor Musical Chairs. Last year, MQ made some major changes and gave everyone new supervisors and told us to get to know them. We did, and a year later, most of us ended up with new ones.
5. No more matching of 401K, as of April 1 this year. They will decide whether or not to contribute to our 401k again later this year, but no guarantees. Take a wild, bloody guess what they decide to do.
6. Incentive program was slashed dramatically. I am personally out $300 a month. What is left will not be given if an MT has more than three critical errors. I haven't had any personally, but many are reporting critical errors for what are considered minor infractions.
7. A freeze on raises until further notice.
8. Outsourcing a lot of work to India, leaving the ESL work for us.

That's just off the top of my head.

If you decide to go ahead and work for them, good luck to you. You will need it.

transtech tale

My friend Bini took the bait and signed on with Transtech. She was in tears at the end of her first day - nothing but difficult ESLs.  Before the zombies attack let me state that every place has ESLs and somebuddy going to be dooin' them, every place, every time, every place. I am not condemning the company, just wish people would not praise is as da promised land.

horrible tale

I was commenting on how companies go in and out of favor.  I am a battle-weary oldtimer like yourself.  I fortunately have not had anything like the disasters like you have had, but am too searching wearily for a decent company. I don't believe any recruiter anymore. They tell you what they think you want to hear. You sign up, lose insurance from prior job, and find out you have 98.8% ESLs, all impossible to understand, or you work for an hour and have no work.  and then you go searching again.

Ah, Michelle's a little tattle-tale!! Trying to earn some brownie points!

Four Seasons Transcription and Robin Hall...a tale of deception and duplicity. sm

I went to work for this company in November. I was assigned two large hospital accounts in Canada. After a few months, she lost one of them. She had to let go all of the MTs and editors she had hired to work on that account but asked me to stay because she said I was her best Editor and highest producer. I did. Everything rocked along for a few months without a hitch. Then my paycheck starting arriving late, at first a week, maybe 10 days late. But I was cool with that and didn't complain. Then one paycheck was weeks late. I contacted Robin and she told me that my bank was rejecting my direct deposit because my account had been closed. So I argued with the bank back and forth for weeks. They maintained that no deposits had been attempted. By then I was 2-3 paychecks behind. She continued to insist my bank was rejecting the direct deposits. I asked her for proof from her payroll company (rejection notices) but of course they never materialized. By August 1st, she still owed me 4 paychecks and I told her I could no longer donate my time and services to her cause. Throughout this time, she steadfastly stuck to her story that the hospital had not paid her, ergo she could not pay me. I've been in contact with a few of her current employees and know she's paying them (though late). As far as I'm concerned, this woman is nothing but a common thief. She stole my time, my experience, my talent, and my trust. I'm posting this because I'd like to save some other trusting soul from this same fate. I have no idea how this woman can lay her head on a pillow every night and actually go to sleep. A pox on her!!!
