more than 2 hours because the trainer like to gab and not necessarily keep on track with the training. So, no guarantee that you will be finished.

Who did your training? When I worked there, I was trained from someone in India, very hard to
understand what he was saying. Communication is less than ideal as there seems to a language barrier and comprehensive. I used to think NO was a universal language but to them it just means keep asking until the other person is so frustrated they are ready to reach in through the phone lines or IM and tear out your vocal cords LOL. Joking aside. Awful experience. I worked too hard, made too little and the HR person was the worst EVER.. real airhead.
I have never worked for Medware.
I have never worked for Medware. What they have in common is ExText and are PSPs for Dictaphone. Medware does not fund anyone and TTS is a totally independent company. I know many of the old crew who were at Medware and they had a great crew and probably will again some day if their heart is truly in it. When people move on they hopefully weight their options and make the best decision they can for themselves. I have had the summer of enlightenment with this industry and having a very hard time maintaining my own good humor about it, frankly. I do know this .. there are still great companies out there who keep a low profile and just get it done. They don't go for the glitz and have to be the biggest and the best and toot their own horns. They just do it the best way they can each and every day .. and that is really what it should be all about each day, the safety of the patient and having a life outside of work that you can call your own.
I worked for Medware in the past, and
at first it was great!  They were advertising for ER which was what I wanted, but when I applied they said no ER so I was given Acute Care.  The first few months were great.  I was in hog heaven.  Then overnight things changed and I had nothing but the worst ESLs and my pay went downhill big time!!  I tried to get things resolved, so no luck.  Otherwise it was great.  Easy platform, good communication, etc.  If you are lucky enough to get and KEEP good accounts, then it is great!
Anyone worked for both Medware and Precyse?
nm
Medware of TransHealth? Anyone worked for both?
nm
Have worked for Medware and now at Precyse.(sm)

Medware turned out to be a really bad place to work, changes taking place there all the time and NOT good ones.  I am very pleased with everything at Precyse.  Great benefits.  Great platform.  Great people at Precyse, love working with them.

I was not WRONG. I worked for Medware, so I know how they operate.
I did not receive a software bundle beyond that which was built into the system.  I did NOT receive a standalone version or disk of any software.  I AM NOT WRONG.  I also could care less if you're happy or not, because your attitude certainly is not that of a happy person.  So go back to your offshoring, lying company and stop trying to get the last word in when YOU are INCORRECT on ALL COUNTS.
Has anyone worked with Linda Kelley of TTS/Medware & can you tell me about your experience, please?

Has anyone worked with Linda Kelley of TTS/Medware, and can you please tell me about your experience??  THANKS SO VERY MUCH, your time is greatly appreciated!!!

Years ago I knew a completely blind lady who worked for Medware (nm)
x
Already trained, not by me
Reports were corrected numerous times and sent back.
Have you been trained yet?
They only spent an hour training me on the Dictaphone platform and no training at all on the account notes. They emailed them to me and told me to type away. There is no limit to the amount you can type either. I am a high producer and had to send them all to QA. Transtech is a friendly place to work but I was not impressed with the lack of training. It is definitely for people who must work on their own. I think I got paid for 8 or 10 hours training pay and that was it.
The way I was trained as an MT
First of all, I have to say that Long-Time MTs attitude stinks.

That said, I did not attend a formal training program, but was mentored to become an MT. I was taught that I should know whether a drug is brand or generic and, thus, whether or not it should be capitalized. In addition, I should know correct dosages and what the drugs are used to treat!

With all due respect, I think that if you have to continuously look up the same things over and over, you should find a better system. I was also taught that to have to do so is a waste of time, and we all know that time is money, especially in this business.
Why not get trained on it then you will get a mix
/
Yes they can. If you have to be trained
for your job, i.e., maybe new procedures, software, etc., yes they can if you want to continue to work for them. Even as an IC, you have to meet their requirements to work there.
If the VR program has been trained and you are
little manual transcribing (and you are an experienced MT to start with), you could expect to be at about 2000 to 2500 lines a day in just a couple of months. At 3.75 cpl, that is $75 $93.75 a day.

If you do manual transcription on a good platform and can average 1500 lines a day at 9 cpl, you would earn $135 a day.

You would need to factor in if they pay for headers, footers, spaces and if everything you are getting is VR reports from the more difficult dictators with a lot of editing that would be needed AND how often they run out of work. Sten-Tel has a reputation of giving their MEs the harder dictators and running out of work often, although your mileage may vary.
I'm only trained on 1 account. nm

I actually prefer to be trained
this way rather than getting stuck on the phone endless hours. Would you mind emailing me the name of the company?
Trained, but didn't like software

The staff was very nice, seemed organized in getting equipment out.  Was not disclosed full details of shift.  You must be on 8 hours, you are logged the whole time. It took the better part of a day to be set up.  The next day it took an entire morning to be trained.  The trainer did not seem well versed with the software, constantly put on hold to take other calls.  Constantly said will call back in 5 minutes and it would be 2 hours.  Not paid for demographics that take a lot of time and software was very cumbersone and to me not production friendly.  Positives were employee status and the benefits were average.  Was told top pay for acute care is 9 cents 65 character line.  I decided it was not for me, but someone else may like the software and adhering to a strict schedule.  Everyone was friendly.

If there are backup accts then everyone should be trained on them
If there is no work and no backup account then there is a huge problem. Please clarify the above. Have you asked for a backup? As for working at Sears, Im sure if business was slow you would have to stick around but they would pay you for your time.
trained 2-3 days after contact....sm

I work there now.  My training was 2-3 days later.  I live in California, they are in Maryland, I did not have a long distance bill .  They call you and you have your training watching them teach you on thier computer, the training is short.

I have been there 3 years and only do rad. I was trained well and love my job. sm
The only complaint I have is that 2 accounts I was on went to Powerscribe. I was put on different accounts because I do not like to edit VR, so there was really not a problem. I get a lot of work and love my lead!
MT for many, many years, hired, trained
And you think x is trying to be superior?

I have a question. If what you say is true, that people on here ask legitimate questions and there are no dumb questions, only people too dumb and proud to ask questions, that does not also responses as well? Why is it that x has been relegated to the bottom of the heap of humanity for expressing hers?

SHE'S the one with the attitude? Puh-leeze, go stand stand in front of a mirror and deliver that diatribe to your audience of one.
I trained the voice recog at a company
Was running perfect for a while and then it all went to heck in a handbag. Took more time to transcribe an ASR then for me to retype the entire report especially since all my docs were macro'd. I believe they tried it overseas left the filter on and it got all messed up and I think they will continue until this particular company has all editors and will be making appx 7.50 an hour, that is what an ex-supervisor from there told me. Needless to say I moved on.
Have done QA and trained folks and will tell you, not all experience is industry standard
x
I'm being trained for QA, and the guy taking me through the training acts like it's rocket sci
I think he's making it out to be harder than it really is. Glad to hear so many actually find it easy.
they have on their site Internationally and Domestic trained MT-s. Don't work for them! Outsour
.
I was told by several actual Indiam MTs that they were trained by watching ER episodes and typing SM
as the show was aired. They were rated on their speed, not accuracy! He said that when he did start working, the actual reports were to be edited in the US, so accuracy did not matter. I found this shocking, although the best line rate there at the time was 2-3 cpl. His accounts that he was assigned in India were for many US VA hospitals He has since come to the US and works online for a major company, last time I spoke with him, he was getting 11 cpl. He must have been trained with one of the more complicated episodes of ER...LOL BTW, I did tell him that he should be an entertainment industry MT, he would probably make more money...
I worked for a temp agency for 3 years..LOVED it. Just worked. No counts, no hassels, GREAT pay..
No benefits at the time.  I even learned pathology while temping (8 months on that assigment).  I loved the variety, the ability to say I'm not available such and such time.  I'd do it again in a heartbeat if I didn't need benefits.
A company is ONLY supposed to verify that someone worked there, what dates they worked, whether PT o
and last date worked. It opens everyone up to a lawsuit if more is given, so most companies are told by their attorneys and business advisors to verify only.

No one has a right to a reference, only verification of employment.
It worked! Latest suggestion from DJ's email worked. nm

If I worked a longer day, I just put my regular shift, 3p-11p, or whatever. If I worked sm
an extra day, then I was told to fudge the hours around on the other days so it all came out to 40.  I didn't really mind -- have learned not to expect overtime in this profession -- and I was happy to be able to work whenever I needed to get the lines I needed.  However, them telling me directly to fudge on my time sheet would seem to be a violation of the wage and hour laws.  I suppose it doesn't matter now if they do not even have enough work to make the minimum line count necessary.  Several of the companies I thought were golden seem to have gotten a bit tarnished lately … sad.
She's giving work TO Medware, or is Medware giving work to her company? Medware has no work. nm

Glad it worked for you. I have worked for companies
that were more reliable and paid without the delay I had. Maybe you started before they started doing that but it makes no difference. I TOO am a single parent.

You are not trying to argue? Sounds like you not only are trying to argue but you are just waiting for anyone to post anything about the co on here so you can just get out there and respond, which seems to be the way I have always noticed it. It's like all the MTs or whoever that work there are just waiting to respond.

This board is about the good points and bad points about companies. I am telling my experience.

The people were nice people though, but my experience was not a good one and I will not say it was.

I can go a week after the end of payday and even 10days later but that's it. Kids would starve.
Best company I have ever worked for, and I have worked for a lot!
I can't believe some of the things these people say here, and have to wonder if it just the same person or two bashing. I have been at MDI for four years and I do not have a low workload and I get treated very, very well.
They one I am not sure of. I have always worked FT for them. I have worked both IC and employee
and I always did way over 12,000 a pay peroid. I am sure they are pretty comparative to other companies. You definitely could contact a recruiter by applying if they would answer all of your questions up front. Good luck.
Medware
Does anyone have any comments on working for Medware?  Thanks!
Medware
Thanks for your input!! I'm job shopping and want to make a better decision this time.
Medware
Does anyone know what Medware is paying these days? They seem to have a lot of ads for help in transcription and for the Dictaphone platform.
medware pay

I went through their whole testing bit, got called twice for interviews, once with a guy and then once I passed the test, some lady called me.  They said I did well on the test, but they only offered me 7.5 cpl (5 yrs exp).  I need more than that so chose to not go with their company.

Medware for me
Love my account, direct deposit every 2 weeks and the insurance is affordable.  My supervisor is really cool and understanding, we get along great.  1 year and counting, hope for many more.  Good luck to you.
Medware
Hi! I just started with them last week and so far it has been really great. They are all really nice and I have had wonderful training. You get paid by the hour for the first 4 weeks so you have time to learn the system (which the system itself is excellent and extremely easy)Your rate is determined by experience so I don't know other than my own. I guess you have to ask them about the schedule, but mine is just what I need. The staff is very, very nice. I think you would really like it. If you will notice, there is tons of negative stuff about all the MT companies on this board, but Medware has a lot less negative than some of the others (I looked through it before I started.) I think you should try it.
I am with Medware
Easy platform, good pay, good people, flexible schedule. Just what I need.
Osi does and I think Medware nm

Has anyone out there worked for Medware?  I have gotten a job offer from them and just wondered how they are to work for.  Thanks for any help
Medware which one?
Which Medware are you all praising? Where is it located?
Medware
They are located in Florida.
Medware
Hi, am thinking about Medware.  How do you like it?  What is it really like.  Do they have a good training program.  I was very impressed with the marketeer.  He seemed very accommodating and willing to work with me.  Just wondering what the scoop is.  Thanks in advance
Medware
ty so much for your response. w/ so many companies out there unsure of what to do. I have been transcribing for 3 years and just getting my line count up. Plus being fairly new on the block was unsure whether I would fit in. Just how easy would it be for a fairly new comer to fit in. I need a little encouragement and a small amount of TLC, but just for a short time.
Medware
Does Medware pay for spaces, headers, footers, etc.
You probably should ask Medware
accurate rate. They are a very good company however. Good luck.
Medware pay
I had 16+ years experience and Medware paid me the same as a newbie because I didn't have my CMT, although I was considered a Level III transcriptionist.  Also, having your CMT, you are still maxed out on the pay.  I had heard that Medware wasn't really hiring anymore MT because they were outsourcing to India and they were only hiring editors or turning MTs within the company into editors.  At one time, they were a good company to work for.  I have been gone for a year so things may have changed.  This was just my experience with the pay scale.
