I always charged an hourly rate ($21.00). That was about 10 years ago....

If the transcribed files go to India, are sent out from India to be transcribed, sm

then the transcribed work is sent BACK to India to be pasted into the GEMS platform and then sent back to the clients in America, how on earth can the company claim to be US-based because its Indian owner has a home in Kentucky?

PAYCHECKS SHOULD BE MAILED IN AN APPROPRIATE MANNER . . .
SO WAS TO ARRIVE AS CLOSE TO THE DATE OF PAYDAY AS POSSIBLE. NO EXCEPTIONS. To be happy you got your paycheck 5 days AFTER payday? NOT ME.
I agree -- you should not have to pay to get paid in a timely manner. sm

Unfortunately, in that situaton I would pay it just to make sure I received it on time.  However, when it happened to me years ago, I raised a big enough stink (and had saved the envelope with the predated postage meter stamp compared to the actual postmark) and G had my check Fed Ex'd to me from then on in.

Last I saw, they made some hinky excuse about a screwup with their bank as the reason for them not having DD but with the messing with the postage meter and all, I do not trust them at all.  R called me awhile back after I had posted my resume and offered me a job but I just could not get over that mistrust.  As the old saying goes ... fool me once, etc.

I have always had my emails answered in a timely manner (sm)
I work nightshift and if I ever ask as quetsion usually Carlotta will get back with me in the morning.
Rapid Transcript, Inc (RTI) does not pay its employees in a timely manner, if at all

I would be very hesitant to work for this company. I have filed complaints against them with the Attorney General's Office and with the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.

If you go to the Better Business Bureau page and look this company up you will also see that they have a F rating.

It is very unfortunate, because they have good dictators at good hospitals and I am sure that they are paid in a timely manner, you would think that they would do the same for their contracted employees.

They stated in an e-mail to me that I should not contract my services out if I expect to be paid. They do not care about their employees at all. They are just using new employees to get free work.

Better than what? The way YOU transcribed it? nm

Run by MTs who have never transcribed,
you mean. Management qualifications are to be nasty, overbearing, use excessive number of superlatives in communications, use !!!! in all communcations, improper capitalization of words. When I started it was a great place, but then the new management took over and it turned into a major nightmare. They got rid of the guy who was so great in training, put an idiot in charge of QA, put a former clerk in charge as a manager, and the list goes on and on.
if you transcribed the way you post, no wonder you did cut it.
if
You are talking to one who has transcribed for over
35 years now, all straight. I did not ASK to be put on VR but like I said in another post when VR was put in my hospital, I was over 50 and I did not want to look for another job. My job still inhouse then and after we learned VR we were outsourced from the hospital. I know about Escription, have done it now for approximately 7 years and that was why I asked how many on your particular system. No problem if you don’t want to say, up to you entirely.
You have to have transcribed for 10 different physicians within the last 5 years. sm

Heard this from a friend who recently applied with them.

I like Typed in the USA, but I would make it Transcribed in the USA
It's longer but better description than typed, at least I think so. Good luck!!!
I don't think anyone requires 2400 transcribed
lines daily. Where I work, to maintain FT status we are required 1200 lines a day/6000 a week.
