MDI-FL. Approximately 7 hours a month x12 months =84 hours
And your PTO acrues from day 1. You are just unable to utilize it until after 90 days. They have excellent benefits.
I always had to work two weekends a month. nm
nm
Transtech does, M-F & weekends once per month
.
I wonder how many hours she works or weekends
NM - that's BS or she owns her own company
Hey, you forgot the horrible hours and weekends

I do about 8 hours of OT a month.
I have high line counts but I had to work to do it. Have over 2500 entries in text expander. When the work pool changes happened, I started floundering pretty bad, for me at least. So, I asked that all of my supes accounts be listed as my primaries. I started one by one and learned them. I won't say I haven't worked harder than ever but now I'm doing really well as every account under my super, I know well. I plan to start the same with the manager's accounts. The more I know those accounts, the better off I am.

I would do more OT but I don't want to run myself into the ground physically so I limit it to about 8 hours a month. Usually we get asked to do OT 3-4 times a month so I do 4 hours at a time.

I just sit down, start working, don't stop until lunch. Then walk away for an hour for lunch and sit down and work without stopping until I'm done for the day. I don't keep checking my lines, or surfing or posting anywhere. While I'm working, I'm dedicated to it.

I make about $1,500 a month working about 20 hours per week.

Believe me, I'm not bragging or slamming anybody at all.  No way.  I'm frustrated with my own income because I'd like to make more.  I'm willing to put in more hours to do it, too.  Honestly, I'm not that fast.  I have one very small local account and one small MTSO I subcontract for.  None of it is verbatim, it's clean up the grammar as you go, which totally slows me down.

I won't work for a national any more because I couldn't make enough money there.  I wasn't willing to tough it out for three months until I could make their line counts, especially when they had me on their worst accounts, pools of hundreds of dictators per hospital so I couldn't use my expander, and a new account every week.

I've said before that if I'm going to do MT, it's going to be on my terms.  I won't chain myself to a desk or be "on call" all day long waiting for work to come in.  Nationals don't pay you to sit there and wait for work.  That's bull.  Being on call IS working.  Other businesses pay their "on call" people at least minimum wage.  They skirt around the issue trying to use SE and IC terminology, but it's just a way of paying us less to be at their beck and call.

Don't give up on MT entirely.  You'll find your fit.  It just takes some searching.

I make 1300 per month 10 hours per week (IC) extra job

I want to know cpl and how many hours a week! Cause the 8000 to 9000/month person
nm
I made that working for a national...O/T, weekends...no live, now no O/T or weekends(sm)
so no more big bucks, at least from them...looking for second job to make ends meet, don't have husband to help...this sucks.
I was told several new accts are coming on this month and also next month, so
I'm not worrying.
Pay period goes from 1st of the month to the 15th, then 16th to the end of the month. sm

So, I guess you could maybe get by with less than 1000 a day, although the incentive tier would make it worth your while to do a bit more.  I am using ExText, and yes, I find it easy to use, but then I used it for a year with another company.  I think their other platform is Mongoose, and I know nothing about that, so really cannot say.

Yes, they are hiring now.  In fact, there is a $500 sign-on bonus.  I think it is all just acute care.  I'm sure they would love to have someone with your experience.  Rhonda Durham is the recruiter.  I am sure she could answer any of your questions.  I am happy to help too, if I can, but I am relatively new.  The account I am working on is mostly psych, it seems, and I am loving it.

Another nice thing, their benefits start after 60 days, not 90 like most.

Good luck to you.

Sorry, I work 15 hours a day 5 days a week and 5 hours the other 2, when I come here I dont proof.
nm
Why would they give you a choice of 16 or 24 hours. Usually part time is anything under 37 hours.

That is extremely odd. Well they must have something up their sleeves. Well I will be working elsewhere part time as well as with MQ as I have no intention of sitting 40 hours with no work from Amherst and be expected to have 150 lph with no work. What is all this window of work time they said they would be giving everyone. I figured all along they would do away with SE. I have already been looking around and ordered a new computer  to send theirs back.

Any companies that allow line count rather than hours or less than 20 hours per week? (sm)

Wouldn't mind having something extra especially with Christmas and general winter expenses coming up but working a FT job and really don't want to do another 20 hours on top of that.

the day has 24 hours, I work only 6-8 hours, so, lots of time to post...nm
nm
TransHealth starts 1st day of month after month SM
you start, BC/BS, good rate on single, don't know about family premium.
Last month was slow on my account..but this month (sm)
we've been swamped...
The new insurance is very reasonable. I pay $200/month and they pay $200/month. sm
Unfortunately, I have had to use it a lot since it changed and I am very happy. They have covered everything.

The insurance is actually $80 cheaper per month than I paid at the local hospital, which is a large employer.

Must we choose either 8, 16 or 24 hours. Why would they want someone only working 8 hours a week.
That is less than SE are required now.
You can have insurance at 30 hours with Encompass, 32 hours with eTransPlus. nm

10-15 an hour for 8 hours is better than nothing for 8 hours when there is no work.
x
You do not get PTO for 16 hours a week. 24 hours or more for the PTO. nm
:
That's exactly what I was going to say. Yes, I work at least 12 hours a day, sometimes 15 hours
to get all of my line count in because I have so many interruptions in my day.  There is no way I would tell my company this nor expect them to pay me OT that they never asked you to do. Unless, I was called by my supervisor and asked to work extra for OT, I would never just take it upon myself to work and expect to be paid.  If you were not authorized to work OT, then your not getting paid. Point blank. I do not work at TT, but I have worked at enough jobs, at home as an MT and otherwise outside of home, that all have the same policy, your paid OT when your asked to work it. It's it is just a case of not being able to get your required line count in 8 hours, then maybe your in the wrong profession or possibly just the wrong company/account for you. This just seems bizarre to me. Just tell yourself, your not getting paid for OT because they aren't approving it so don't work it. Again, if you were asked to work OT, told it would be OT, and then they ask you not to record it, I'd pitch a fit, but from what I see, you've done this on your own.
? 13.33 for 3 hours ($4.44 hours) am I doing it right. Geez!!!!!i
.
Weekends?
And no, I don't work weekends, only if I want to get on the OT or the incentives.
Weekends
You work in the medical field, which is a 365-day-a-year business. Why would you expect that you would not have to work on weekends? The hospitals that provide the work that provides us a paycheck expect their charts back in the contracted time. If you aren't willing to help provide that service, then either get out of the field or find your own physicians to contract with so that you can set your own hours.

Weekends
I worked weekends for the Harpy MTSO and OT whenever it was needed. Did she appreciate it? No. I happen to like working weekends! An oddity, I know, but I AM a professional.
DSG used to have no weekends. Don't know about now. nm

Weekends
Almost every company out there now requires a weekend day....and GIMT is soooo flexible..you are not HELD to certain hours. Get them in when you can that day and everyone is happy.
Weekends at TT
I have just recently started at TT and was told I had the choice of Sun-Thur or Tue-Sat; when asking for M-F, they laughed. Also, their ads say Tue-Sat and Sun-Thur. What gives?
Weekends
Except if my memory is correct you did not have to commit to a set schedule for the weekend as long as you covered your 20% line commitment.

no weekends
No way do I want to work weekends.  Is it really required or are they flexible?
weekends
I only did M-F. I know someone else who just started with them and will only do M-F.
weekends
when I worked there you either did Tues-Sat or Sun-Thurs. Or if you wanted Monday-Friday, you did every fourth weekend. Only fair in this business.
weekends
It used to be people were hired with a 2 weekend days a month requirement. Now they are hiring on Tues-Sat or Sun-Thurs schedules (as are most companies). It sounds like the info packet hasn't reflected that change. Probably best to clarify your future schedule with the recruiter or your supervisor.
Weekends......
Check with FutureNet.  I work weekend option there, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and have more work that I know what to do with.  They are always needing extra help on weekends.  Pay is good too and people are super-nice.
To Weekends Off
Thank you for that positive feedback. If you would be willing to share the names of these companies I would appreciate it and you could contact me by e-mail.
To No Weekends Here
If you would you be willing to share the name please e-mail me. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
weekends
If you don't want to work weekends, shouldn't have picked the medical field. Maybe you should try a doctor's office, though most of them these days are open on Saturday.

I love working 1 weekend day and having 1 day off during the week to myself. That's my sanity day.

There are plenty of ways to work a weekend day and still have time for family. It might take some creativity on your part but it can be done.
OPs, weekends, as an IC... 7 cpl.

That's equivalent to roughly 4-5 cpl as an employee with benes.  It takes years to become a good MT.  I can't believe the low pay rates posted lately.

Weekends

The account I'm on, because it is a clinic account, tends to be done for the week usually by Saturday night.  Occasionally there will be a backlog and work available on Sunday, but that's rare.

I don't know about the acute care accounts.  I would assume that they would need people on the weekends- that type of account usually does.  They started me at .0875 cpl which is just fine for my needs and expectations.

I don't know about the not getting a response.  I got a response from them right away last year when I applied, so I'm not sure what that's about.

TT weekends
I work 4 hr/day Sun-Thur by choice. Some work Tue-Sat and others rotate weekend days.
The weekends
We have always had busier days on Thursday and Friday but this is waaaaay busier. Of course, people could be on vacations, etc. as well. It is summer. It just seems funny that there is NO work for three days and then a ton of it.
Weekends?

Just curious...what is the typical weekend requirement for Transcend?  Also, how strict is your scheduling?  Those really are my main concerns at this time.

Weekends
It does help somewhat, but I'm really just wondering if they do require 1 weekend day per week.  I don't mind working every other, but absolutely cannot do 1 weekend day per week.  I guess I'll have to wait until the first of the year.  Thanks for answering though!
Weekends...
Thank you.  That's what I needed to know.  We do a lot of camping on the weekends, or we did anyways, usually every other weekend.  So, there is no way this is going to work for me.  Like I said, I have no problem with working every other weekend, but if I have to work one weekend day per week, I'm either going to have to sell our camp or find another job.  This is depressing.
Why would anyone work 8 hours a week. The poster above said 16 or 24 hours a week.
:
more $ for night and weekends
0.005 per line from 6 pm to 11 pm. from 11 pm to 6 am 0.01 per line. How the heck can we keep track of this stuff? More time will be spent calculating the time sheet than earning it!!
Yep, I can see for me that weekends and OT will go by the wayside. nm
nm
weekends and stuff
Actually, when you get your little chart to fill in (24 hours, 7 days) it clearly has marked the hours where there is a shift differential. You could choose to work ONLY during those hours if you want. There will still be incentives and bonuses. The bottom line is, the jobs will still need transcribed and SOMEONE has to do it.
