Ya know what, CynicalMT...

I agree with you 100%.

I've found myself so utterly disgusted by some of the things on the Word Board that I have made it policy to NOT read it.

Personally, bravo to my fellow MTs with far more patience than I. There is no way I'm spending my time to practically transcribe an entire report for someone who either doesn't have the intelligence to research or is just too lazy to do so themselves. We have a couple of troopers on there who never fail to help out; sometimes I think the MTs posting for help on there ought to be giving a cut of their pay to the posters who are practically doing their job for them.

I realize we all have to learn, but a lot of these posts wouldn't be necessary if the MT had any common sense to figure things out on their own.

To my fellow MTs who have the patience and availability to help these newbies on the board, more power to you.

To me, it's question of intolerance and I refuse to do someone's work for them. Maybe I'm a horrible person, but I've trained so many MTs in my time and I can tell within the first day or 2 which MTs have 'it' and which MTs are sorely lacking in even the most fundamental abilities to be a successful MT.

Helping is one thing but that Word Board goes far beyond helping at times. My idea of 'helping' some of those posters is to completely ignore them and make them figure it out on their own when it's something so simple that even a complete novice could find it if they had a bit of gumption.

/End rant

I think you are right on. These people did not just wake up one morning and decide to merge. You can be sure that they did it so that the CEOs with get the greatest advantage, right off the MTs' backs. So much for this great family company, eh?
Did anyone notice only CynicalMT

I think you are spot-on, my friend.

Where else would well over 230 minutes of work in a demanding subspecialty go for 3 days (dictated 9/8, received on my account on 9/11 for transcription). This has NEVER happened on this account. The work appears immediately after it is dictated.

This work went somewhere and sat there for 2-1/2 to 3 days; obviously out of TAT and returned to the USA MTs only to clear it up.

I agree with your theory - It was sent somewhere (India?) and fell out of TAT and had to be grabbed back, or it was off being fed into the VR system that will soon take over all of the accounts.

I've been working this account for some time. We have NEVER gotten 2-3 day old dictations on it.

Something's rotten in Denmark....
