She can belittle employees all she wants, does not answer e mails, sends snot grams on a regular basis and steal lines from the employees to fatten her own pockets.

As your accounts move to India, they move you to another account. NM

You may have to move on to move ahead (sm)
One way to look at what you are doing right now is more training only you are being paid for it; once you have a year or two under your belt as experience, you may be able to command a higher wage someplace else. It's funny, a place will pay more for someone with 2 years' experience than they will pay someone who has worked for them for 2 years! Go figure.
lmao!! yeah maybe I'm the recruiter...suggesting that my co-worker is the problem. yeah that make

Yeah, yeah, I spelled health wrong -
I am very angry right now and my fingers are taking it out on the keyboard.
Yeah, yeah, AND enjoy!

Move on from both! nm

Sometime you have to move on for (sm)
your own sanity.  Working under constant pressure is not enjoyable.  It is important for me to like my job.  Unfortunately, I worked for a place and felt like we (many more than just I) were not being told the truth.  I moved on and so did several others I know.  The company lost a few excellent MTs in the process.  I feel you get more with being straight up than moving through a thick smoke screen.  Sorry this is happening to you, I've BTDT.
Why would you just move on? There are a lot of sm
accounts. You are going to base everything on a few bashers. There are over 300 MTs at KS, some who have been there for a very long time.

My advice? Ask for a different account or ask for assistance on the one you are on. They will help you but maybe you need to go over the person you asked.

I have heard that there is a lead who will not pass on information like that because she doesn't want to lose anyone on her accounts. I know that she is not going to be a lead very long either as I have heard that someone else is taking over her accounts. If you email me, I will help or at least will work to get the right person to do it. I know that it isn't one of my accounts as no one has asked for a change on either of mine and most have been on them over 2 years.
move
May be you need to move then!
Move on.
LOTS of better companies out there than TTS.
I had to move to QA
I broke my thumb playing softball and it still hurts to this day after several years. A lot of people in QA have had injuries of different sorts, but we obviously must have a bank of knowledge and a lot of experience as well. Unfortunately, I have seen some companies stick brand new MTs in QA for some odd reason, presumably because they are friends.

If you can consistently type for 8 hours without getting tired you can make more money as an MT.

One thing that we in QA have noticed is that it seems the highest producers also have the most errors, some of them critical errors. You can tell that they don't proofread or do live checks. They seem to be interested only in the money and not the quality.
MOVE ON! nm

Why not move on?

If you're that unhappy, why not just move on?  There are lots of other jobs on the job board.  It sounds like from your posts that you are a highly skilled MT and you obviously want to work.  If MDI isn't working for you, then why not look for a new job?

I feel terrible for you that your experience is not good, but I don't understand why you stay.  Consider taking another PT job with a different company.  You could work it when the work is slow at MDI and if you find that it's better for you, then move on with the new job.  I'm sure no company wants someone working for them that is that unhappy.

I know that making a change is hard, but it sounds like it's harder for you to stay than it would be to move on.  Not every company fits everybody.  You deserve to be happy.

If not able to do the job, the MTs should move on
I have never worked at a job where I was asked to do so much work I could not do it. Maybe lack of get up and go or slow MTs, who knows? Why do you get the MTs are being disrespected? They can't do their job, we work production. We all put up with dictators who cannot speak clearly, chew, snort, ESLs. That is the way it has been and will be. The dictators are not changing for us. That person needs to probably find another profession.
That is a very smart move...
Perhaps that would be a better strategy for me.
This is a great move.
I believe of freedom of expression and we are just expressing ourselves. This problem must not prevail.
Yikes move on....
If this is how they hire people, imagine when it's payday!
Move on quickly...
There are other great companies out there. This really touched me, you sound like a single mom who is trying to just make the best for her kids. I feel for you! I, too, am trying to raise two kids, but work for a great national even though there has been a lot said of that, but they have been good to me. Don't feel like where you are at is the only option. There are many other places out there, just start looking and working at home really isn't so bad! Good luck to you!
Did HIP move to Georgia?
or do they have more than one office location now?  Thanks!
Might have to make a move
Can you tell me how many lines you can produce a day with your Medware account and what the going line rate is for someone with 5 years experience?
No way would I take a cut for AVR. I'd rather type. Move on.

I really wish MTs would move on when a company does this to them.

I know a company who has been pulling this crap for 5 years now stating the same sorry story over and over.  By 5 years, they really should have the bugs worked out, but, oh wait, she bought another new car and put in a hot tub.

Bottom line, if they are not paying on time, move on.  If everyone would respect their work enough not to tolerate this more than twice, then eventually all the crap companies would either fade away or would make the necessary changes to stay in business.  I really believe the MTs who continue to put up with this are perpetuating the problem.  my 2 cents

Good move

Moving to Transtech would be a very good move!

Stupid move
Just because they are hiring does not always mean they currently have the work. I was with a company that was waiting for a certain type of transcription that I do. Even though the company did not yet have the transcription, they were advertising for MTs for that type of work. My sister said that do that so that they can be prepared. I am sure you made a smart move because more than likely they still wont have work to give their MTs.
Shut up and move on.
Geez.
move to another account

I tried that.  After trying to break through the wall of disbelief that I wasn't making great lines.   I was told by mgt *I'll get back to you about that on Monday*.  Never heard another word.

Good move
I have been there for just over 2 months and love it. They are the best company I have ever worked for in my 6 years in this field. I'm sure you'll love it.
consider that is how they do business and move on!

Making a move?
Has anybody heard of Diskriter and if so do you know if they are a good company to work for.  Their site looks interesting and their benefits look good.  Thanks!
TransTech. Best move ever!

Me 2!! I just started! Best move

Do they still move the end of the pay period whenever they like.
They weren't bad to work for but that drove me crazy. I had it in my mind that the end of the pay period was on Sunday so I would work my schedule around that. So say on Friday I would think, Great, 2 more days on this pay period just to find out they were cutting it off on Saturday. I believe this was some bizarre attempt to be able to make payroll by cutting the pay periods short. I could understand if it was once or twice but it happened too many times and I find that made me nervous and wondering why you would changes pay periods so quickly without real notice. The company I work for now has their pay period dates set in stone for the whole year so I know exactly when the pay period ends and when I get paid.
I would take it as a sign and move on. NM

They might as well move India over here.

Was this a recent move?
Because it seems like everyone has been pretty happy there, that is, not hearing much complaints here on the board.  Lack of work maybe?
Don't make the move!!! sm
All of the questions you ask will have to be answered by your specific company. Where I work, I do have an assigned account and there are about 10 doctors in that account that I do QA for all of them.

I fill in blanks, give feedback and do random audits. I'm on several different IMs, so any of the MTs can reach me during the day to ask questions, but this rarely happens (easier to leave a blank and move on).

The ratio of QA to MT again depends on whether your company assigns you an account or has you randomly pulling work off of a system or pool.

I've seen the average pay for QA top out at about 4 cpl per 65 char. I get paid 1 cpl per 43 char (I know it's kinda weird, but the company I work for pays by 43 chars).

Now, the reason I say don't do it is that if you are a good MT (and you must be since you are being considered for QA), you will make far more money and have far less stress in your life if you stick with MT. What you will find is that there are a lot of substandard MTs out there, especially if your company outsources like mine does, and it is now your responsibility to fix all the problems the other MT either doesn't know how to do or can't be bothered to do.

You'll send emails, give feedback, try to be positive and helpful and when you start getting into arguments about where the comma goes in the middle of a sentence, you'll discover that you're now one of the QA people that you hated as an MT.

I think if you'll go back in the archives, you'll see I'm not the only QA person that feels this way - sorry I ever made the move. My paycheck was just about cut in half from when I was an MT.

Definitely get some of your questions answered from the company you work for about this, but think seriously about it first - it's really a lot of stress and who needs more of that in thier life?

Good luck to you and I hope whatever decision you make works out best for you! =)
If you don't like a thread, why not just move on?
It's a shame you allow such tiny little things to annoy you.
Making a move
That could be said if the merger never happened.  Things were changing at MDI over 6 months ago.  Everyone has to do what is best for them.
I wish you would move the replies as well. sm
It's very cruel the way a few people are enjoying the concern that many Webmedx employees are experiencing, and they need to be called on it. Her language of 'get over it' and 'get back to work' and 'quit whining' are flaming. People should be able to vent without being taunted by people who enjoy their distress.
Not worth the stress...move on...I did.sm
I went with a co. started on 10/25 and turned out the platform really sucked..too much stress. I quit..got hired two days later..move on. Your home is your life..you don't need to be stressed out over your work when your work is at home.
All you can do is learn from this and move forward.
Keep on going forward, learn from the obstacles in the road, the road will get smoother ahead, I promise!

Keep you chin up!
I should probably move this to the main board - nm

My rate of pay was changed, should I move on?

I was offered a level 3 position with a higher rate of pay from a recruiter.  I signed the forms and quit my other job.  The recruiter told me on Friday that he had a meeting with the boss and was told because I did not have exactly 3 years experience, my pay would have to go down to a level 2.  The rate at this company is already pretty low and you do not get an extra 0.0050 cents if you do not obtain 98% accuracy.  Because I already quit my other job, I somewhat reluctantly said okay.  However, today my old supervisor told me she wanted me back.  I do not want the new job I accepted because of the change in pay before I started.  I start training for the new job on Tuesday. How do I inform the new job I decline the job?

Thanks

And as easily as the recruiters move around SM
they also can remember all the difficult or nasty people they have had bad experience with at their old companies.  What a person sows at one company, they may reap when they try to move to another.
Geeeeeez. You should move, like today!!
Bless ya!
