I had a good experience with a smaller company. My accounts were very stable, you knew who you would be doing every day, and you can make a lot of money because of the familiarity with the acct. A lot of small companies have had the same clients for many many years, which is a plus, because as they grow, they hire just enough MTs to do the work, not overhire.
