Yes, they'll have to remove superlatives from the web site

No longer can they put the best, proudest, most dedicated and conscienscious MTs. New PR/advertising will in the future say:

Acusis...our American employees are just average and only moderately concerned with quality, but by Vishnu, our management eats the best samosas and curry a rupee can buy!!

BOS is BS when we remove the O, right?
The BOS used to be a good tool. The new version is horrendous and all the English teachers and professors I had during my education would roll over in their graves if they saw the new rules. I use the old version along with all I learned from the wonderful teachers I had the good fortune to have and quite a few tried and true reference books. I could never take seriously and use advice from a book of style that does not even believe in the complete sentence concept. Sometimes, if there is a serious gray area, I research in current medical journals for the standards used by the PHYSICIANS themselves, not some panel or whatever of bumblers who want to create their own reality. They make a great deal of money from selling this schmuck, so my advice is to get the old book of style and take good care of it, get Stedmans Word Books, use proper grammar, spelling, and research at reliable sites who have nothing to gain from creating an artificial reality in the medical language arena. Now that AAMT is no longer an American organization I have my serious doubts about anything they put forward. As for standards at work so everyone will create a uniform document, I must comment that if those documents are uniformly wrong, then have any of us gained anything? If there are 20 transcriptionists all using the same wrong reference is that progress? Is that good patient care? That is why medical Transcriptionist jobs exist, remember? Another thought, if someone publishes and sells a book that changes the alphabet as we know it, grammar and usage as we know it, or say even the names of everything as we know them would we all run out and buy that and change our language accordingly? Would a wagon then be a Wagun because the new book stated that was the true and correct name? Give me a break. A wagon is a wagon. A complete sentence is a complete sentence. Graves' disease is that way because a guy named Graves discovered the disease. It could also be typed as Graves's disease (but that is funny-looking). He was not named Grave. That is where you go when they bury you, right? That is why it is not Grave's disease.

Thank you for this platform on which to vent my anger and disgust with all of this. My physicians are professionals in the medical field. I produce their documents to reflect their professionalism and to enable them to provide excellent patient care, no matter what BOS says or does not say.
but it does not remove anything....
from the registry, so if the program was set to load anything automatically into ram when you start your computer or reboot it, it will continue to use your ram. You have to go to a technician thant KNOWS how to clean up your registry to get rid of all the remnants of a program. CCLEANER cleans up your hard drive.

No company is able to remove posts. (SM)
Only the Administrator and moderators, such as myself, have the ability to do so.

Please take up your questions with the Administrator.

Can we remove our glossary from company computer?

I am attempting to move a glossary which I created over 4 years via e-mail which is proving to be difficult as an attachment to use on my PC for a side job.

Is there a company policy that says we cannot do this?  (Spheris).

I just asked the moderator to remove Denise's post...sm
from the board. Since we all figured that she must be new on this board making such a faux pas, I thought that she does not know how to tell the moderator to remove her post.

Correction: One is told to remove or change the nasty expressio
from your post before it can posted.
You are still wrong to thank your company on an MT site, appropriate is your site.
    NM
If you'll read through past posts you'll find lots of
recent info.  Why do you need menitoring if you already work as an MT.  Unless you do clinic work most companies will require you to work at least one weekend day, at least initially.
If you'll read the archives you'll find out everything
you want to know, none of it good.
Probably figure you'll want Way more than they'll offer, whatever it might be. :) nm

    Best Web Site...
Here's a totally silly, irrelevant, dopey question:  If you had never worked for any of the nationals, knew nothing about them whatsoever, and you had to pick one company based solely on their web site - who would you pick? Remember - you know nothing about any company whatsoever....
Here's a web site for you.

    Except for the site.
    know nothing.

    http://medicalbazaar.com

    HTH.
On this site, at least. :) SM
However, I felt it was worth posting as a representative of those Spheris employees who are satisfied.

I think many Spheris employees choose not to frequent/post on online forums, since there are guidelines regarding such discussions and it's easier just to avoid the issue.
I took a look at their web site - sm
I have not complete any formal training with a medical transcription school, but have 15 years experience in acute care. Their web site says they prefer transcriptionists who have completed formal training with an accredited school. I really want to apply, but since I haven't gone to school, I am hesitant. Anyone know if they will hire based on experience, without having completed training?
    new web site
what discussion forum on what new web site?
    MDI-FL...is there a web site....
to go to for infomation?  Thanks!
    New Site?
I am thinking about making a website/blog specifically for Pro-American MTs, educating the general public what's truly at risk here. For starters, I am personally going to boycott all doctors who support/send their dictation other countries!!!

I want to make the general public aware and get their input on supporting such a boycott. Hopefully, they'll join in on the boycott too.

My money is going to the doctor who supports American jobs. I'll put my trust in those physicians, thank you. As far as the docs who send their dictation to MTSOs who send our jobs overseas, I hope they all move overseas and live happily ever after! You don't deserve to live in America!

Who's game? I may get a friend of mine to get this started? I can message/email personally to those who are interested will details.
I don't think they have a web site

But they had an ad on the big MT job board.  They're in Florida.

    Where is their web site??
    nm
They don't have a web site (sm)
Can I put you in touch with them?
    According to their web site
The Transolutions APEX™ system is a secure, Web-enabled information management system offered exclusively by Transolutions. APEX™ reduces bottom-line costs by creating efficiencies of data management and storage at a centralized location. It also allows you to audit, access, view, edit and print transcribed documents. (Future phases of APEX™ will include electronic signature.) APEX™ incorporates:
OK, you got me to their site. I still saw nothing about it.
Could you direct me to which tab it states it on? Do they get money for all of us being paranoid and going to their website?
    Web site?
Does this company have a web site? I could not find anything - was wondering how long they've been around. I lived in Peabody for years and never heard of them, not that that means anything!

MDI-MD? I tried www.meditrans.net because I had seen that somewhere, but you can't get in without a password? I just wanted to read about them, their requirements, etc.  Thanks
It's also in the TOS on THIS site.

    Their web site says

you get paid when we get paid by the client, pay 0.07 to 0.8 cpl, you must submit your own invoices, a 2-dollar charge for direct deposits...I quit reading after that.

I don't work there but thatis what their web site says.

why not just go to their web site?
    x
and if you look on the site....
they are lobbying for required certification to do medical transcription, which would suck all of us into membership and partnership wtih them. Blech!!
From their site, they are an
Indian company. Do you really wan to work for an Indian company?
Go to the web site for
the AHDI, formerly AAMT, and they have definitions for three levels of MTs. Whether or not you agree with their organization and what they stand for, I think that theirs are the best definitions I've seen for job descriptions in this field.
    this site
I'm beginning to think it should be renamed MTWars. That's about all that ever goes on here anymore. I wouldn't even presume that I could get a decent answer to a question on here because it seems like every question starts some sort of ridiculous childish I'm right, you're wrong debate that goes on forever and ever . . . . It's a very ugly place to visit and as of today, it's off my list of favorites.
Thanks for the web site help. sm
