Consider that a lesson in how they operate and forget them!
Their sound quality is bad much of the time, they are unorganized and so rude much of the time, and it might be easier to get an audience with the Pope himself than get a reply from them on anything you may need to ask! I have heard from plenty of people who are still there about being switched around on accounts to help them out. Pay has been on time and seems fair.
Medquist dosen't operate the way Spheris does. sm
You cannot even compare the two and believe me I know.
I was not WRONG. I worked for Medware, so I know how they operate.
I did not receive a software bundle beyond that which was built into the system.  I did NOT receive a standalone version or disk of any software.  I AM NOT WRONG.  I also could care less if you're happy or not, because your attitude certainly is not that of a happy person.  So go back to your offshoring, lying company and stop trying to get the last word in when YOU are INCORRECT on ALL COUNTS.
That's a pretty good glimpse at how they operate. SM
    Very unorganized.
10-key skills mean can you operate a calculator? How that has anything to do with being a skilled M
is beyond me. The Amphion people are a joke. They act like they are the best of the best but the reality is that they are a sad group of people in a sad little company that is growing in single digits (read, sloooowww). Gimme a break!
You weren't there, you don't know..
    .
Then you weren't there for the last pay period which should be DD on the 5th and was not done unt

And like I said, if you weren't typing SM

the stuff, they'd have nothing to come back to you with.  And how did they get angry with you anyway?  Did you respond to their feedback with negativity and not take responsibility for knowing your account or the basics of transcription?

From knowing many people with your type of attitude over the years, 9 times out of 10 they are people who have the same problems at every job, don't take feedback well, think they are right all of the time and just generally cause problems.  Instead of taking responsibility for your part in doing a job, you lay blame on your supervisors, other employees, etc.

They weren't even bad. I don't know why they were deleted sm
unless the name-calling started again. That is the only reason they are deleted. I wish they would've stayed as there was a lot of information from both the company and others and none of it really ugly unless someone blew it as usual.
They weren't very structured when I was there. SM
They pay okay, around 10 cents a line, but no benefits, no taxes taken out, no direct deposit, so that brings it down to about 6 cents a line.  If you want your check overnighted, you pay about $25 or $30 for that.  Otherwise it gets mailed and take a chance on when you get it.  Even having it overnighted does not always work.  I had three or four instances when my check was lost, twice for weeks at a time.  I'll stick with the more MT friendly companies who manage to pay 9 and 10 cents a line and still give full benefits and direct deposit. I don't mind working a weekend day now and then.
Heard they weren't less than 8 cpl.

Oh, I'm sure they weren't! But what I meant was, (sm)
not that we be contacted before the sale, but after. We sure haven't been getting any reassurance, here.
There weren't a lot of us left (sm)
I think there were a couple of accounts and we were waiting on some bids to come through but capital-wise apparently they could not keep operating waiting on potential accounts so decision was made to close.

I think we all knew it was potentially coming, just surprised that it happened so quickly. I have no hard feelings, but am nervous about finding new work as I have little experience looking for a job!
weren't they saying last year during
transcriptionists?  It was part of some contest or something.  Maybe that was a few years ago.
now I know you weren't talking to ME right?
    /
postings about them is that they weren't getting paid. nt

Who are you talking to. I did not say you weren't! Respond where you are
    supposed to
They weren't rude with me, but a little disorganized and
not looking out for my best interests, but the interests of their client, which I guess is the way it should be since the client is paying for their services.  As far as I know there are 2 women that run this company, I have not talked with the owner and maybe she was the one rude, but the woman I dealt with was not rude, just a little dingy and maybe not 100% truthful about the company that she was recommending.  All TM did though was screen me and then I still had to go through the testing/interview process with the company.  I had had contact with the referred company previously and had even been offered a position with them, which I turned down.  The pay rate offered to me by TM and the pay rate offered to me by the company were the same.  I declined referral to the company, being that I had already declined an offer from them and I never heard from TM again.
This is the price of doing business. If there weren't
something in it for you, you wouldn't be doing it - whether it be money, ego, prestinge, etc.
I was hoping they weren't liars. sm
What a concept eh to think companies actually tell the truth once in a while.  I was hoping they would make good on their promise.  I have spent a lot of time making templates and such and did not want to start all over again.  OK, I get it now.  I told them I would not do anymore work until they sorted this out but I am looking elsewhere.  Thanks for the input.
If you weren't looking for the job why'd you read it and post?
    Inquiring minds want to know.
Don't come back saying you weren't warned!
Why bother to ask for feedback if you ignore it?
Makes me wish I weren't menopausal!
    LOL
I could go along with that if it weren't for the "cheesy" part

I could go along with that if it weren't for the "cheesy" part

Gosh, maybe. They honestly weren't bad.

I have transcribed much, MUCH worse ESL than what was sampled on their test.  When they asked me what percentage of ESL I had transcribed for in an average work day, I told them 20% or less and that's when they said that their work involved 80% ESL.  But man, that 20% that I got at my former job was some of the worst on the planet, I swear!

I posted below that we weren't talking about
Ascend, but that Ascend is well known for not paying on time.  I don't know that they never paid, just not on time.  All the information should be in the Archives.
    But weren't there payment issues??
    x
MDI-MD? Weren't they bought by Transcend?

    They weren't losing those accounts.
They weren't losing those wonderful accounts, they were being sent to the Philippines to their transcription center there.
You weren't even getting paid enough in 1989.
I was making 5.5 to 6 cpl in 1976. It was a good wage back then, but I don't know how anyone with half a brain thinks MTs will make ends meet with that amount in 2009, or will continue to work for companies that pay that chickenfeed, or even consider hiring on with them, when you can make much more money flipping burgers.

    Heck
They are probably glad you didn't apply too. Why do transcriptionists think they are constantly owed more than they get? Get up off your butt and work for it. It can definitely be done.
    HECK NO!
Especially considering so many errors are subjective. There are a lot that are spelled out so that there is no question about whether there is an error or not; however, there are far too many that are ambiguous and/or seem to be based upon any particular QA or supervisor is editing or auditing. I've had many items marked for errors throughout my career, both as an MT and as a QA, that I've disputed and even shown proof of the descrepancies. These have not always been changed from errors to showing as correct.
I definitely wouldn't work for a company that does that - especially if they refuse to pay you for an entire report for only 1 supposed error! What a crock!
how the heck you do that
How come you so fast? what kind of work does TT give you?
heck, i don't even know what co. this is! nm

    Now HOW THE HECK...

On the Seekers Board, Synernet is hiring RAD MTs.  On their website, they require 1600 lines/8-hour shift.  Does this include the RAD accounts?  And isn't this the company who offshores?

PLUS, how in the heck are we
supposed to decide whether to go PT or FT or bail, with this total lack of info? Not to mention, we don't know what wage we would be making, and they base their PT/FT status on how much MONEY you make in a pay period...screwy.
    Well, heck...
I don't even work there and never have, and yet I'm irritated FOR you, lol!!!

Nothing grates on me faster than employers who brush off their employees' concerns the way you were brushed off, and that post of hers just muddied the waters even further. Of course, it's not a pay cut in the sense that they, for example, dropped you from 7 cpl to 6 cpl, but if they are not paying for something they previously paid for, I fail to understand how that is NOT a pay cut.

Maybe I need more coffee. Or maybe the post was intended to be ambiguous so as to not be incriminating, lol!!!

Anyway, you have my sympathies...both for the pay cut AND for having a boss that treats you like a nuisance when you have a concern!
Where in the heck do YOU get off!

Really, what IS YOUR PROBLEM????  If you don't watch it, GP will sue YOU for defamation of character!  That would be a fun countersuit to see.

They weren't related at all. Her sister-in-law is my lead and is
wonderful. This person was a transcriptionist who took over HR. No one liked her and we thought she must be related to Lee, but she wasn't.
Are you sure those posts weren't by people who had applied

If you weren't talking to giddy pc guru

posted your response in reply to him/her.

However, if your comment of Give her a break was directed towards giddy pc guru, I have to agree with giddy pc guru's response to you.  It's very difficult to tell sometimes when someone is being flip and when they're being sincere.

Please help promote a kinder world.

I left 6 months ago, but they weren't paying OT then, but

    I worked plenty OT.

You sound disgruntled; no wonder you weren't promoted from within... sm
sounds like sour grapes. Since when does top management share the internal workings and all the goings on with employees?
