But I would prefer to have this opportunity for any hospital and not necessarily where I am located, and I'd like decent pay across the board and not confined to region where hospital is located.  This would open the door to many more MTs and I would think the hospital would only benefit from this.  


I see a problem if you limit it to region where hospital is located in that if your arrangement is to work at home but the hospital is nearby, you may be called in unexpectantly to work in-house and if you specifically need to be at home while you work, this would incur a major problem.   Some MTs MUST work out of their home for health reasons, caregiving for spouse or parents, work when kids are asleep, etc. 


But yes, direct working relationship with the hospital without middleman service taking the biggest piece of the pie sounds like a good idea!
