end of pp at TT

In Reply to: Yesterday was end of pp at TT and I'd like to know - MTalongtime

I got all my lines for the payperiod. I achieve my lines daily in fact. And I only work part-time.

Dont believe all the negative information being posted here. Unfortunatley some have had EXTREMELY bad experiences with TT. But I have worked for TT for around 2 years, and I have not experienced all the issues I see people posting about here.

I do VR as well. I like it, but I agree that the industry is not compensating us adequately. But that is not TT - that is everywhere.

MTs are one of the first things healthcare looks at when trying to contain cost - hence outsourcing. Then along came VR - an even better cost cutter since it is not as established and they get to decided the pay rate. So they came up with the excuse that we can edit faster than type (not true,) thus doing twice as much work and so it evens out in the end.

So we are forced to sacrifice quality for speed in order to survive and in due time the healthcare industry will indeed get what they paid for.

Unless all MTs stand up for ourselves in a united way and REFUSE to do VR unless paid reasonably, it will not change. If we have time to blog, we have time to lobby our government, the healthcare industry, and our own MT organizations to work harder on our behalf on this.
