I've asked & been told the line rate, & I've asked & been told a range, & I've asked & been told
I guess what I'm feeling really concerned about lately is that the supply/demand dynamic has utterly shifted out of our favor, & the TONE of the job postings really says something about how potential employers view us as a group...From where I sit, it looks like if MTs stopped working for companies altogether, docs would still need dictations transcribed & we would all end up as ICs or MTSOs, but the transcription companies would go out of business...So the idea that we need them more than they need us is really an illusion. Not to be Norma Rae or anything.
I think slamming the phone down & telling them my individual little pud is getting pulled is definitely a good start. I'd like to figure out a way for an entire group to state loudly that one gigantic nation-wide pud is getting pulled, not that this is so easy, with offshore MTs lined up around the world clamoring & begging to have their puds pulled.
I don't really have any answers, just a sore pud.
