I, too, just read the ad from Keystrokes.  I wonder when they started using DQS.  Do you think they pulled an account or 2 from MQ?  I never knew them to use this platform.


I also worked for the Q for about 10 years but am now with another MTSO.  I left there just before the announcement of the big CBAY takeover, talk about eerie suspicion. 


Sorry I can't answer your questions, but just wanted to let you know I was thinking the same thing.

Somehow I already knew the correct answer, darn it:)  I was holding out, hoping it would get smooth and I could finally have some acute care VR editing on my resume, grrr.  I have always been adamantly against offshore companies but these guys portrayed being US-based with an extra I.T. office in India.  I'm finding out that most of the biz is Indian now.   So I should probably send them a bowing-out e-mail now.  Would still like to word it professinally of course.  Geez, my hubby is going to be upset. I've been looking for a good place for 5 months now...

You read it wrong, the $300 is taken at $50
a paycheck.  You get deposit back when you return equipment.

My husband and I struggle from paycheck to paycheck. He had to sell his guns and I have had to sell jewelry, etc. just to put food on the table. I don't have 2 nickels to rub together right now until tomorrow. Then I have to pay that back to family members I've borrowed from to pay bills! I am one of the most compassionate people you could ever know. Also, a holier-than-thou Bible thumper I most certainly am NOT! Those are the Christians that have hurt me the most. You have no idea as to the hurdles I've had. Because of what I have been through, I don't judge a soul. What I cannot tolerate however, is blatant hatefulness that runs rampant upon this board. This is the most hateful board on the web. One has to wonder if the way this field has become has anything to do with it. My heart goes out to those, like myself who are struggling as well as to those so miserable they look forward to taking someone's head off for the most benign questions. It's sad.
You read the memo wrong
The memo read pay for reviewing of offshore work will be paid at.....  It does not mean that we are paid the same as those offshore.  My pay has not changed since this went into effect.  We were all offered the option to transcribe if we did not like the base rate plus incentive.  I for one do like it, but if you do not, why do you not transcribe instead of review?  It is an option that was offered.  Just a suggestion that may work better for you.

or the owner. She gives a lot to all of us, has helped me out in an emergency out of her own pocket and would not let me pay back. Why should an owner give a piece off their company? No one should expect that from any company they work for. I make good money, get paid well for what I do and appreciate the job. They owe me nothing else.
I knew on day one that the company was wrong for me and you will too

Give it a try..... but follow your instincts... if the bad rep company gives you a gut feeling, run like hell, do not wait long, just bail out.

WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! We turn down work because so many hospitals are sm
calling wanting a company that keeps work in the USA. The trend was stronger a few years ago before it all came to light about poor quality, the woman in Pakistan who threatened to post medical records on the web, 911, etc. There are hospitals who look for US-only and they are the MAJORITY not the minority. Definitely seeing the tide turn on offshore from an MTSO perspective, both MTs and customers!!!!!
There is nothing wrong with inquiring here for information on a company. sm
A lot of useful information is exchanged here regarding other MT's experiences.

Not sure who it was to, but I heard she is somewhere signing papers.  Hope not MQ.  Shame that a good company is giving in to the $$$.
Usually, the less you read about a company on
that it's a good company. Most people will complain sooner than they'll praise something. In in terms of how often you do or don't see a company talked about on MT Stars, no news is usually good news.

Read through the archives, horrible company.
The dictators are some of the worst ESLs, sound quality is horrific, the reports are so bad I had to basically retype them, flaky QA, management problems, etc.

I have removed a thread about Acusis because it was practically 100% absorbed into nothing but hateful rumor and personal attacks of one individual at the company and too much identifying information.


Do not identify people by initials, names or other descriptive information about individuals.  Stick to topics about companies, issues, etc., but we will not be tolerating personal attacks on anyone. 


While I generally try to use a temporary ban to get your attention for such posting violations, banning for this type of attack will be slower to lift. 


Please be responsible with posting in leaving out information about others individuals, internal/privileged information, etc.

I just wanted to clarify something with everyone in hopes to ensure we all are on the same page.


I have deleted some posts that were correcting grammar/spelling, etc., as those are not allowed.  I usually will place a temporary ban on a poster in order to stop them and tell them in my action reason why I deleted/banned their post/privileges and ask that if they will abide I will remove the ban.  For 99% of posters, this works well as they were not aware that it was a problem or that we are serious about it, at least.  However, there are posters on occasion who resort to calling me names and who rant over the morality of some posts left on the board and try to enforce THEIR views or to allow them to pick/choose which posts should remain or even to excuse them from their unwillingness to abide by guidelines.  Not happening!


We do not moderate any of the boards for niceness, for ethics, for morals, for specific opinions.  We DO moderate for name-calling (troll, liar, or foul names), for posting privileged or private information, for spelling/grammar policing, etc.  All opinions are welcome here.  Stick to posting about topics, etc.


I just wanted you to know that MTStars does protect YOUR right to express your opinions here - regardless of what perspective it comes from - as long as posting guidelines are upheld.  This means that you may well find posts that are offensive to you - just skip them, leave them alone.  Stick to discussing or even debating topics but leave the personal attacks alone.


Thank goodness that we do not moderate by any one person's opinion of what is nice or not, right or not, appropriate or not, moral or not!

I do not know anything about the company, but did read posts that they paid late. sm

The pay was decent, though, at 10 cpl, but it was 3rd shift every weekend, and I decided to pass just in case I ever decide to get a life. 


Sounds like you had a bad experience -- sorry for that.  Hope wherever you are at now is better. 


I read the article, it states exactly what the company always tells us...
that they offshore a small percentage of their work, and that it will never take the place of their domestic MLS. I love working at Transcend.

For someone that doesn't work at Transcend, you sure have gone to a lot of trouble to find the article and continue posting about it. Any other issues?

I know what I am paid home-based, which I think is a fair amount, but my sister works at the local hospital and they asked her what she thought was fair and she asked me. I told her I would see if I could get a round about figure. I think this is in-house, they just don't have the position currently and are going to add it.

such a shame because they seemed like such a good company, everything was there, you know? Makes me wonder why I ever left the hospital I worked at to begin with...but I did 7 years ago, and now I am regretting it.

The recruiter is awful nice and did now apologize for not checking that first...not intentional, so cannot stay mad about that...

The work I am getting is extremely difficult. It has to be the worst I think I have ever done in my life, and I am literally losing about $200 a pay period because the health benefits just went up about $100 a month for me at the same time. It is as if I have sunk down to the very bottom of the list, getting only difficult work over and over, or else no work. I keep being told they will understand if I want to quit...?

wonder why their web site indicates that they are hiring.  They apparently e-mailed the poster below, who posted yesterday, about a position with them.  I understand that a lot of MTs do not like to see the company they work for advertising/hiring when they do not have work available, but it happens all the time.  I really just wondered how much the down time pay is at this company.
