    That is a little much for somebody to make up. Also have you never been called by ops to work extra? If so that would be rare or your work is not very good. My phone rings off the hook on my days off.

    have SE without all this. Their last report said they are making less money now than before and expect to make less in the next quarter so what does that say. We shall see. As part time employees you would still have to adhere to a schedule and I think people are SE for flexibility at least I am.
    I'll love to know who you work for. I also work every weekend with no extra pay.
    It'd be nice to get paid for all the nights and weekends I work.
    Maybe I should clarify. I went to work for them when they were a
    small company and there was a personal touch. If I had wanted to be a number, I could have gone to a larger national.  I have to say that I do run out of work and my unknowing team leader has no clue as to which account I should switch to if my secondary accounut is out of work, too.   As I said, I just consider running out of work as an "early out" for the day and take a walk in the park or go to a movie.
    Always work, usually all the extra you want too.

    No special platform.   Some accounts you can work in WP5.1 or Word, some just Word.  Work is batched so no saving every report.   The only demographics you have to enter is patient's name, all other automated.  Daily QA feedback and QA is good overall.   Use BOS generally, but not strictly - client dictates.


    Direct deposit and pay is ALWAYS on time, even early on holidays usually.  No charge for direct deposit.


    If you are local can use C-phone, otherwise work is downloaded via FTP.  They provide foot pedal/software but not computer.


    IC positions only - but don't know rate.  I've been with them since the beginning and am an employee.  They pay based on gross line though, use Sylcount for line counts and no screwing around with your lines.


    They aren't perfect, but most employees have been there since the beginning, little turnover.  They leave you alone for the most part, no IM, no nasty e-mails, aren't calling every day for you to work extra, occasionally offer a bonus.   Schedules are Sunday-Thursday or Tues-Sat, not clocking in.


     


     


    MDI is asking for MTs to do extra work
    Honestly, I do not know where you are getting your info from. MDI is really busy, so that leads me to believe you do not work for us. If you want more work, please call me at the office (or you should have asked your TL). I sent out a mass e-mail Wednesday night asking for help, help and more help.

    Hope you are making honest posts. If you are, then I really would like you to call me either at home or at the office. My home number is listed in TT (although most of my MT's have it already).

    I am one of those MTs who had gotten sick. I hate to call of sick, but believe me, I could not work and then, once I was well, I stepped up and tried my best to work extra! Yes, it is the holidays and we all have a lot to do, but if the account gets behind and they get ticked, they can pull it and take their business elsewhere and where will any of us be? WITHOUT A JOB, that's where. If you don't want to do your part and step up to the plate for a company that is by FAR one of the best out there, well then you don't deserve to work for such an awesome company. Take it from someone who knows first hand, the grass is definitely NOT greener elsewhere. Look at all the MTs out there complaining that they don't have any work. I would much rather be in our situation than in theirs. I, personally, plan to work my tail off this week to help get things back in TAT! I wholeheartedly cannot imagine that QT is doing any kind of outsourcing! They have said all along that they do not support this! I hate coming on and reading things that are not backed up with FACTS. If you can't give solid evidence about the accusations you are making, then just zip it! Sorry for the long post, but it gets me fired up to see this company getting bashed when it does not deserve it!

    If you work it you get extra cpl. You CAN ask for it off if it is on your regular days also. sm
    Personally I don't think it is a bad deal at all.  Better than nothing, which is what my other job paid for holidays.

    I have worked 2 jobs for almost all of my life, so it is almost 2nd nature.  I think you will find Keystrokes a refreshing change from MQ.  They actually care about your well being and listen to you . They do not overhire.  The benefits are pretty good.  I do not have anything bad to say about them.

    Sad but true. You're asked to work NOW, then asked to stop NOW, then go again and then stop
    If you dont get off the minute the hospital asks, even if you have no idea that they have requested that your to be off, then the hospital MTs steal your work right out of your queue and I mean reports you have already done. I dont understand the concept of having a contract with a hospital and then having to fight for work with the hospital MTs. We should have guaranteed work during our shift and enough of the the hospital wants you to help right now and then a few hours later they want us to stop working as the work is too low. It is crazy and I couldnt work like that so I had to quit.
    And you are required to work 3 holidays per year, but you get extra pay for that. nm

    It all evens out.  I, for one, am happy when there's no work so I can slack off a little, and it has never lasted for very long.  Maybe the VPN is down at the hospital or something.

    Do you automatically give it to the one you do full time or the one that pays the most?  Feel like there is some loyalty to the one who gives me benefits.  How do you all do it?
    Put the extra work in to studying ESL accents, word expanders, become
    more proficient as an MT and you will become more valuable and get better line count. Just IMO.
    I saw postings that all our work was overflow/extra support for hospitals. (sm)

    Whatever happened, it has been ongoing since around the Memorial Day holiday.  I too am getting worried.  Christmas coming up, winter utility bills, not to mention the every day expenses we have in order to survive. 


    I am picking up a PT position.  May be a little tired working the 2, but for right now it covers my butt.

    I find they are extremely cooperative in helping their MTs meet their needs.

    Being asked to work all your days off?
    First let me state for those who will say get out of the business if you don't like it, I am NOT complaining. I am posing a question to my fellow MTs to see if they are asked the same thing, and how they react. Here's the scenario, no to very little work during the week and then you are asked to work the weekend. This is not your only account and you already work 6 days a week as it is. Do you work your only day off? Of course there are no incentives or OT offered. I don't want to seem like an uncooperative employee but dang, I need at least ONE day off!!
    When I asked about less and less work, I was told
    that no MDI work is being done by Transcend because they have no access to the MDI platforms / clients. It was suggested that the economy may be taking its toll.
    I didn't ask for your wages. I asked for help and if I'd have to work

    and I didn't really think it would be like pulling teeth because MOST people at Transcend are willing to help when you ask WITHOUT the attitude.  But if you post on the forum like you do here, it's obvious who you are.

    What?? they have asked you to work the account but never told you how much your pay is??
    Sounds strange to me.. They would make me nervous as that should be the first thing they discuss.. or at least that is what I would want to know right off before I wasted my time with them.
    When I was hired, they asked me what work types I liked from sm
    best to worst. I have progress notes last. I hate them but get a few every day-type them anyway. Wish I got more op notes but H&Ps and consults keep me real busy.
    I haven't but the company I used to work for asked
    MTs to take a cut or risk losing the account because the account wanted to go offshore. 
    They asked me to work OT every week, NEVER paid
    any OT, did not get raise after 90 days.  They said I would but it never happened. 
    If it is any consolation, I work at CS too, and I asked Rahul if we would sm

    paid on Friday, and he said something like we'll try, so there is still hope.     I hope it is Friday, too, as the coffers are a bit low at my place, but I will be happy to see it on Monday, if that is what it takes.

    If you have work at TT, which is doubtful, without putting in MANY extra hours and NOT putting

    the correct number of hours on your timesheet -- that is stealing work from the other MT's !  Also you are giving false information on your timesheet, which TT will eventually get into trouble for allowing you to do -- just like the Q got into trouble!


    You are obviously taking the only halfway decent dictators from other MT's.  Makes me sick that the leads/supes/mgmt-type people transcribe and take the cream of the crop from the MT's !  That should NOT BE ALLOWED by TT mgmt AT ALL  !! !


    It is DEFINITELY going on tho.  TT management, you need to STOP this practice and share the fairly decent dictators with EVERYONE !


    When I was hired on a number of years ago, I was told that TT had 35% ESL's.  What a JOKE and untruth !

    Thank you. The recruiter was very informative. I specifically asked about work flow
    as the company I am at now runs out almost daily, in part, I believe, as a result of being a mix of straight typing and VRE. I prefer straight typing over VRE anyway. TT is offering more per line and offers incentive and shift differential, which is something I don't get currently. Im excited to start working with them.
    I know this question is asked a million times but who is good to work for
    anymore?  I have 13 years experience and I work at a hospital part time but I know I can make more on production plus I need the flexibility because I have osteo in my back and other health problems that require me to kind of break it up if you know what I mean.  I'd only like to work 4 to 6 hours a day, make a decent line rate, and have flexibility of having a span of time within which to get my lines done.  I don't need benefits but do not like IC status; I prefer statutory.  Any ideas?

    It was on TV, newspapers, it took a court thing to resolve. Guess people will try most anything (for the moment) and just pay a fine, i.e. the cost of doing business.
    Me too. As soon as there is a little extra work they hire and hire and then noone has any. This
    goes on all the time.  I get sick to death of it.  I think having 2 part time jobs is better so you have 2 jobs to count on.
    Then as I said earlier.....
    Next time leave it for someone who will truly appreciate the opportunity to make an extra $100 - you obviously don't. In these economic times you should be grateful for the extra. Also, it wouldn't matter where you worked, either self-employed or employee, everyone has to have taxes taken out. Even if you made minimum wage somewhere the taxes still get taken off the top. That's not something you can get around no matter where you work. I don't understand your logic of working 5 hours overtime actually equal 10 hours, but even at that it's still $10 an hour and a lot of people in this country don't even make that much. You should still consider yourself lucky and stop complaining about it or don't work extra anymore.
