I agree. I was having a brain-fart and type SOLE instead of SOUL. I didn't have my transcription hat on I guess. All I can say is I love it at TransTech. It's refreshing to have such positive attitudes in comparison to what I went through at the Q. I kinda just look at it like, no matter what....there are always those few bad apples to try and ruin everyone's day. I, for one, refuse to let them influence me in any way, shape or form. I'm happy, and it's been a LONG time since I've felt that way since the beginning of MQ's demise. Yes....I am a cheerleader for TransTech, and proud of it, because they go out of their way to please, which in turn, makes me want to please them. It's simple. I think the few negative people here are just generally miserable with their own lives in general and will bitch about anything. We had those at the Q too....many of them. These few need to do some serious soul-shearching (or should I say SOLE-searching). Go ahead...assasinate my character....I don't care. I am happy!
Happy typing fellow MT'ers!
What treehugger says is true, but sm

what she didn't tell you is that they are going for VR so big time, it isn't even funny.  The allowed their accounts to set quotas for the amount of work that has to be done VR, which limits work for the traditional MT.  They will tell you that voice editing is a choice, but then they start whining about your not agreeing to do it for about half the money per line and they start pushing you out of traditional transcription by cutting your workload.  They DO NOT have that much work going.  Most of the accounts are started as traditional and quickly transitioned to VR.  Depending on who you talk to there, it might be 30% to 40% or as high as 90% of the work on a given account.  They have about 25% of the MTs on voice the last I knew.  They snarf up most of the work, leaving little for the much larger group of traditional MTs.  Their voice program is not very good and they do not police the way these reports are edited.  They tell if you find some sloppy VR reports on the system, to turn in the MT who did it.  That is underhanded and how exactly is that the duty of an MT? They need internal auditing.  This is destined to backfire on them.  One, the work is terrible and two, they will cease to be able to hire and keep the best MTs they can find, which is unfortunate since they know how treat their MTs with good benefits and wonderful management.

Treehugger was 100% right about it being a nice company with overall very nice people and owners who do seem to actually care.  My problem was the issues with VR and the way they were going about it when I was still there.

Quite some time back, someone said that all of us new hires might love TT, but not to come back crying when we started running out of work and that she gave us all 3 to 4 months before we started quitting right and left.  I thought she was a fool, but sure enough, at the 3-1/2 month mark, it started to happen and I finally had to quit or lose my apartment and/or starve.

I'd keep looking.  I have talked to Precyse and I think they are motivated to keep their MTs happy.  There are also lot of wonderful smaller companies out there with plenty of work and a can-do attitude with finding larger accounts and making it work.  I know this because I work for one of them and I am paid 11 cpl versus 8.5 for TT.
