I worked for SS and some people were very RUDE and I am talking about the editing people in some
instances.  It ALL depends on the person, as it does with any company.  They paid on time and the lady over me was very nice, but boy the person in QA was mean to EVERYONE!!  Never seen anything like it before.
It is so rude to call QA rude because YOU have
been stuck on QA hold for six months!! And the other poster above - if you are getting QA notes and they are including your supervisor, which you imply is not the norm, then YOU are the one responsible. It matters not if you've been an MT for 1 week or 30 years - if your skills are not up to par, they are not up to par. Many MTs get cleared from QA hold within hours or days at most - companies do NOT want to hold you up from producing, nor do they love to waste their $ on MTs on QA hold. You really need a reality check. And no, I am not rude! It is always, always the MTs lacking in skills who get pissed at QA - no form of feedback is acceptable to that type - even sealed with a kiss and a big bow!

There are a LOT of in-the-closet Americans who work for these companies. Their protocols ARE rigid, but some of the MTs just aren't (American and offsore, mixture of both working for the same company). The test I took on mttest was the hardest I have EVER taken with more actual files to be typed than any other company. When it comes down to making a living, you do what you have to do. No, I don't work for one now but I have and money is money no matter who gives it to us.
And you all call me rude?!?!!? I did not result to personal attacks or

speculate about anyone's mental health.  I just simply stated there are rude people and one must deal with it instead of crying about it.


This is the point in the conversation when the above poster comes back and says you were rude so I was rude to you.  And probably sticks their tongue at their computer screen!


Really, this whole debating tactic of resulting to personal insults when you can think of nothing intelligent to say is just sad.

seem a little snotty, not wanting to start apparently at the bottom of the totem pole where newbies do, and not fully realizing that the workflow in this business waxes and wanes, but she was not rude. Just extremely inexperienced.

I don't really appreciate being described as promoting hocus pocus...I was just describing - very poorly I know - what happens to me and I know alot of others who use dictaphone...that the computer you are typing on can sometimes be overwhelmed by dictaphone and vpn and it will intermittently slow down - and you will experience a lag in your typing - which was what I was trying to describe...maybe these are just older computers I don't know but you seem to have a real axe to grind..I was simply conveying my experience...maybe you need to get a life, or learn to handle your anger a little better, or better yet get back to work...this is my day off what's your excuse? I apologize I did not describe this adequately, but just because you haven't encountered something doesn't mean it doesn't exist..

don't want to do operative reports and such. I can see where they might be intimidating for a new transcriptionist. I was not trying nor was that a rude statement. Sorry you took it that way.

Even so, it is very unprofessional and rude to not reply back when someone took the time to test!!

Well, boo frickety hoo! So you encountered some rude people...

this is business baby, it's not your mama's house or church.  Suck it up and do your job.  Not everyone is nice.  Not everyone wakes up in the morning and sings with the birds and whistles while they work. 


I wasn't rude. All I said was that if I was trying to profit from recruiting people, I would
have left contact information. I didn't get called out and was never rude. How is stating FACTS rude? I'm also not offended because your logic makes no sense to me. I speak the truth. But it doesn't matter. If we have anything negative or positive to say about ANY company whatsoever, we're either recruiters or disgruntled ex-employees. I didn't get called out because there was nothing to call out on. Please, take your senseless accusations elsewhere. The board administrators know exactly who I am, so they can back me up when I say that I'm not a recruiter. I'm (GASP!) a happy employee FINALLY after ages of searching for the right company!!!!

It is my understanding that Heather is no longer with the company. I would contact Katie, she is now the HR/recruiter. I really enjoy my job with DSG! There are several people happy there. They pay on time and correctly. They are very easy to communicate with. In the archives is also a post from a DSG'r who works for GIMT as well and is very happy with both!

Ask to speak to the highest person there. Demand that they immediately cut you a check and send it overnight (providing you with a tracking number). It is not your fault that they made an error. I do not play around when it comes to my money and I would NOT let them get away with that.
Call or go back to the school
and ask them exactly where these $60,000 to $70,000 jobs are. When they tell you, let us all know!

Medquist call back?
Hey everyone. I had my phone interview with Medquist on Sunday morning and filled out the second set of information they asked for. They said it would only be a day or two and I still haven't heard anything. Does anybody know how long they usually take? Do they let you know if you didn't get the job?

I was told I'd get a call back too
with TAT, hours, etc.; after hearing such wonderful things about the company, lack of follow through on their part did make me blue.
Must be why they won't call me back. Sent resume and
they responded almost instantly, can't wait to talk to me.  They have never called me back.   I've been reading lots of posts today and overall they don't sound like a great company, so I figure it is just as well they didn't call. 
If MT is a true employee, then definitely illegal. Worth a call to US DOL

I have been doing this a long time and when our stats are pretty up to date and then you get a stat dictated a couple of hours back, you sort of figure it out.  I think all companies should have a cherry picker of the month and let the team know who they are.  Does TT call people out on it?  My company just overlooks it as long as someone will do it.

You do not know these people personally and have no clue what type of person they are. I personally think it is a bit trashy to speak of others the way you have.
It's all SE status - some people just call it IC.

Yippee - I finally got a call back and did the test files last night
I hate sent another email and even called, but she was out of office. When recruiter sent the test files, she apologized for being out of touch and even thanked me for my persistence.

By the way, I was not talking about Medscribe at all. It is a totally different company.

I do all that for my animals and people call me nuts!

It just depends on what your priorities are I guess.  Some people do that for kids, animals, a house, a car...if it makes you happy--go for it!  That whole life it too short and all...

Well if it is Amherst stick together and all of you call New Jersey. I did and a lot of people in my
office did and I dont know if it did any good or not but when I talked to New Jersey I got the distinct impression that were getting a lot of calls. They were very grouchy for sure. Dont just sit back and take it or nothing will change for you. There QA plan is so abusive it should be thrown out. You wouldnt believe the things they take off for to make sure you dont get QA points. They are a very very abusive office and it seems as though they like to make people miserable so it seems they must be very miserable women. You know, misery loves company.
I find that people who call others fraud are jealous.
Many people are jealous that others have made something more. It is the difference in each of us. I am sure if the recruiter who calls herself a hiring manager says she earns $46,000 that she does. I might even know who it is. I know I earn more and guess what?? I know one more recruiter that makes more than I do!

Being a recruiter, I know that you do not go around telling the company you earn that salary for because that is not professional to name the company, but if you think it is not possible, you are wrong. When you have excelled in the industry, it is not only possible, but probable.

If you want to make that kind of money, do something wonderful with your MT work and go for it, but you can't do it if you do not have the people skills or the ability to analyze.
CBay fired more people via conference call.
...including one that they tried to get rid of in December but felt compelled to keep. 
We have a lot of back up people too...
especially in the mornings, and then as their accounts start getting work my account starts building up some. We have even had OT in our account for the past month or so. I really expected more of a slow down for summer, and although it is down some, it seems to be a pretty good steady stream of work.
Not true anymore. That changed this past week when they decided that to go back to having PT MT'
I talked to my Coordinator who told me that during their meetings this past week at the office, it was decided that some PT positions were necessary.

The decision for FT only was officially made in September but they have decided to go back to having some PT MT's fo fill the needs of some accounts. There will be definite standards to be met, including must have one weekend shift and must do a minimum of 2500 lines a week, but there will be some PT MT's hired when needed. She did say that the number of positions would be limited, trying to fill accounts with FT MT's first.

This came directly from one of the Coordinators who was in the meetings last week.
