IC MT, do you have a certain number of lines (sm)
or hours you *require* for yourself? How many hours in a given day do you work? Thanks!!!! That helps.
Most companies either go by number of lines
a day or number of hours.  The hours can vary from company to company as to what is considered PT versus FT.   The lines can vary too, though 500 to 600 lines per day is what is generally considered part-time.
Most companies go by the number of lines per hour,
adjusted for full-listens, etc. To try to go by the number of reports is idiotic. There are too many variables for that.
11,000 lines per pay period. nm

12,000 lines per pay period
It's a pretty strict requirement for all full-time MTs to make their lines in order to remain full-time and keep benefits. Obviously, if there are valid circumstances that prevent you from making your 12,000 lines, they are very understanding. They will help everyone in any way they can.
20,000 lines a pay period would be wonderful.
I'm lucky to get 10,000 to 12,000.
12,000 lines per pay period to be considered SE...nm
nm
12,000 lines/pay period not 1200
I'm sure it was a typo, and I'm not picking on anyone, but I just want to clarify that it is 12,000 lines per pay period that is required of an SE which is roughly 1200 lines a day.  Hope this helps!
1200 lines/pay period?? nm
x
1200 lines a pay period

The requirement for direct deposit is 14,000 lines a pay period CONSISTENTLY, so in breaking it down over a 13-14 day period, a bit over 1,000 lines a day -- hope you can brush up on you math too

I meant to say 12,000 lines per pay period (nm)
x
For FT it is 11000 lines per pay period.

22,000 lines per pay period, 4 years. nm

Well above 12K lines a pay period HOORAY! nm.

2400 lines, I'm stuck on that number. 8 hours??? I want to see her answer that one.

outstanding account(s) to do this in 8 hours.  We had one whole week lately with no work at all, maybe get 30 lines an hour.  And it wasn't just our office, people were calling NJ also about not having any work.

And if you are doing quality work, you have to be slowing down to make out the slurrs and bad grammar.

Well, her day will come.  When they turn her into an editor, and her accounts dry up into nothing but VR let's see what happens.  And her account must be very simple (tasty for VR grabbing), it will disappear.

LOL

I manage to get almost 20,000 lines per pay period typing.
if you really must know.
Insurance way too high. 12,000 lines per pay period.
All they offer are the few days of PTO. That does not include sick days or personal days and if you take a holiday off you will also have to use PTO to get paid for it, only pay for holidays if you work um.

My friend told me that there is no way she will be able to make the minimum line requirement after being switched to a VA account. She also said that on a whole their accounts are lousy and QA is very inconsistent.

I think its 6000 lines per pay period and 20 hours.....but

Is there anyone working for Keystrokes that has not been able to get 12,000 lines per pay period? sm
If so, how is that handled by the company?
10,0001 lines per pay period for FT with benefits. nm

I'm fulltime IC, need to get 10,000 lines per pay period, believe parttimers need 5000 per pay
period.  They've been very flexible with me, as long as I get in the required lines by the end of the pay period.  We use DQS platform, which is user friendly, but I don't think it's as easy to get lines as on some of the other platforms, I think because of the way it counts them.  DSG is a good fit for me, always treated me fairly, pay is on time.
Had you worked for them very long? How many lines were you averaging each pay period?
That is terrible.  I am so sorry to hear that.  Best of luck to you in your new job.
6000 lines per pay period (2-weeks) and 20 hours per week that is
Just clarifying.
Full time empoyee status only -- 1000 lines/day, 10,000 per pay period.

Blue Cross medical,Guardian dental, Spectera vision, 10,001 lines per pay period. sm
Cost per pay period for single coverage is $94.36, $1.68 vision, $7.06 dental.  Hope this helps.
15,000 lines per pay period. 8 years with KS, 6 years on this account! nm
Not going anywhere else!
part-time IC is 5000/pay period and full time IC is 10,000 per pay period. Need to talk with
recruiter about cpl, I'm sure it varies with experience.
1800 lines is easily achieved. I average 300-340 lines per hour. nm

10 lines per minute = 1500 lines for 150 minutes - average. nm

I average 1200-1400 lines per day with a national, and am only getting around 600-800 lines per day.
It's been this way since the day before Thanksgiving. I've been doing this for almost 30 years now, and more often than from Thanksgiving until the new year is the slowest time of the year. I have some months where I am swamped with up to 2000 lines per day. I stash that little extra money, and take advantage of a handful of extremely slow days this time of the year to actually cook dinner, decorate for Christmas, or do Christmas shopping. I actually anticipate this slow time every year and have grown to enjoy the breathing time. Any time I have attempted to pick up extra work with another company to supplement these slow times, the minute I get adjusted to the new accounts, etc. I have no time to finish all of my work because my full time job with national gets slammed again. Hang in there if you can, and hopefully your work will pick up significantly around New Years.
They work with you to make sure you get the lines required or the amount of lines you want...
I have never had a problem getting more work
Minimum lines for FT used to be 60,000 keystrokes a day, about 925 lines. Pay was good. Just not a
s
Yes it is possible to double your lines. I cant type 460 lines an hour but I can get those with VR

US MTs are just a number to HIS
HIS just needed US-based MTs so that their clients would stay and they could finally break even!
Tax ID number

I am just trying to estimate my taxes and my tax program won't do anything without a tax ID number....I tried the Medquist board twice with no response.  could some former or current  MQ'er take pity and email me the tax ID number?? smedmiston@bellsouth.net.

Wonder how they got your number?
I guess that is what would bug me the most :-)
I have the number

I got offered a full-time position and got phone numbers and e-mails with no problem.  I have the transcription manager's cell.  E-mail for details.

They did offer me an check if i wanted it.  I chose the direct deposit, but i think they will pay by check too.

Number 1, 2, and 3
1. I come to this site for a break and to see what other MTs are doing or not doing. Sometimes I post and sometimes do not.

2. No one said anything about delirium but if being happy because your are not being taken advantage of by a company, then yes, we are; however, apparently some just want to express relief.

3. Hanging out on a site where people are looking for a job for transcription, to me at this point in my life, is to break and hang out with my peers.

4. Large groups of people are not deliriously trying to get people to Keystrokes, I think just sighing, I know I am after all I have been though.

Hope this helps. Can we express opinions if we are not looking for job? I like the main board too.
Wish it was just one number.......
By the way, I'm not working today. Are you?
Which FOF number were you in?
I was in FOF 12 with Rachel. I'm still having to use Netcare for my account, which is good i guess, because was already familiar with it from training.

About my name, I love it. My great-grandmother suggested it, so I got it, then got her first name as my middle name. So it worked out perfectly.
There are a number of different
versions of Meditech.  I type in Meditech Magic using Shorthand expander.  I know lots of people copy and paste from Word, but I'm afraid I will screw something up.  I really like Meditech because I get paid by the gross line.  I make more money on this account than anywhere else.  I also like Meditech because the patient's entire chart is available so rarely do I have to leave any blanks.  Lab values can be verified, x-rays reports are accessible, etc..  It's not made for the MT, true, but there are a lot of benefits to using it.

Call 800-788-0629 and ask for the payroll rep - they may want your last name as different employees handle different letters (some do payroll for last names A-F, etc.)
SS number
Why would an IC need to give out a SS number? They don't match your contributions, so I would think they would have to accept a tax ID number. I really don't know. Probably curious as well.
here's their site and number sm
