Yes, and I think it will get worse.  As I said, this all happened to the MT industry before a lot of the rest of them.  Medical cost-cutting starts with clerical and MTs, etc., and such, and nothing will change that.  They are even cutting nursing staff and freezing nurse hiring and other medical personnel where I live.  My DIL RN says she is very lucky that her own department hasn't had the staff cuts yet, perhaps because she is is Peds ER, but she says hospitals are making a lot of changes as far as cutting costs and that it is affecting employees.  The hospitals will do the same with everything that costs them money if they can.  If VR is cheapest, that's what they want, and then that gets passed on to us, the MTs.
