This just lets the companies know they can take advantage of people and makes it more difficult for those of us who do actually want to be ICs

Maybe DSG isn't hurting for employees like OSI is.

Hurting lines
That is definitely against our contract and we would be in all kinds of hot water and likely get sued so I am not about to try it, but it WOULD be interesting to know. Lots of MDIers are still without work. WHERE did it all go? I am putting my bet on India.
I don't agree with this at all and this is the mentality that is hurting
Our paycheck is earned by us for our work, our skill, and our experience.  A "thank you" is a little extra shown by your employer in appreciation for the little (or sometimes a lot) extra that you do for them.  The thank you doesn't have to be monetary, just simply words of appreciation.  I get really tired of hearing people say that our paycheck should be enough for all that we do.  Sure, it's enough... if all we do is what we've been hired to do.  But, if we go above and beyond, what's wrong with the company going above and beyond by saying "thank you".
I agree...let it go!!! You're only hurting yourself
Forgive it, go on with your life and don't look back.  Believe me, you can harden yourself to that hurt and still have a great life. DON'T LOOK BACK!  Say God bless 'em and go on.  You are the one holding yourself back.
Insulting others who are hurting is not standing up for yourself
Don't fool yourself into thinking what you have up your back is a backbone ;-)

Ah, just less ESL's so I am not totally mentally exhausted/stressed/hurting all over by end of sh

This job has become more and more difficult/stressful during the past 4 to 5 years -- since outsourcing and voice recognition. I had rather work for less $ any day than get the sloppy dictators/ESL's that the U.S. MT's end up with. Also the doctors whose dictation is not compatible for voice recognition software is being passed on to the MT's.

This job was so fun and exciting about 5 years ago, and I put in MANY extra hours (and made good money) because I did enjoy the job and also the extra money. It seems there is just not enough money offered to pay for the type of dictators/reports that we can get now in this profession. I am probably the only one who feels this way, but I am just being honest.
