I am friends with many of my neighbors; in fact, the neighbors on either side are very good friends who we socialize with frequently and are like family to us. We also get together from time to time with our whole cul-de-sac and know people further up the street, as well. We all watch out for each other, take care of each others' pets when we leave town, help in emergencies, etc. In fact, I have a key to my next-door-neighbors' house and could probably just go in and help myself if I needed to borrow something, LOL! And I don't think they'd mind at all.
