I feel your pain, my DH probably woundn't even go to the ER, the man won't even take an aspirin or ibuprofen for a bad headache. He will die from some inane (and curable) illness because he refuses to go to the doctor for anything. He is 49 and has not even seen a doctor since 1994 when he had pneumonia...even he realized he would have died w/o going though, but is more stubborn/stupid about it now though. The only thing he goes to every couple years is the dentist. He will complain for hours though of back and shoulder pain (probably has arthritis but who are we do actually know), we think he has gout too (big toe pain)....but again won't get checked. He is my mother all over again (except she never complained which was why she died young at 68....no one knew she was having any problems)....you'd think knowing how I feel about my mom and everything he'd get checked out every now and then but nooooooooooo, guess H*ll will have to freeze over first.
