I don't understand how you scan slides since they are like little negatives. Are there special scanners for those? My ex-MIL has lots of old slides.

I will check into getting the home movies redone. I think one of my cousins (1st cousin - LOL in reference to other cousin post) has them.

My uncle did such an awesome job, and they didn't have kids, so he took movies of all the extended family.
