oh lighten up on the OP - she's probably in her 20s

and let's not forget, men can't baby women because they (the men) are such HUGE babies, or most of them........*LOL*

She could have been joking. Lighten up. nm

Just to lighten up things a bit
My SIL and her daughter (19) have had a "fighting' relationship since day one. We have a joke about when SIL is in her 90s and lying on her death bed her 70 something daughter will come to visit her and SIL will say "Good God, is that the only dress you could find to wear?".

Everyone has drama in their family, you just learn to take the good with the bad. I am sorry the original poster was so hurt and seemingly rightfully so, but even last night while watching a reality show my DD said "I just love drama!" We had a good laugh about that and I said remember that in 10 years.
Lighten up people!
Gosh!! Can't you guys take a joke?  I have 5 cats, 4 dogs, a hedgehog and a cornsnake and thought it was funny!  Just like kids, they can get on your nerves and you say things you don't really mean.  BTW, the kitty stew was pretty funny too!
I think it was a joke. Lighten up!

Just to lighten things up - this morning's news - sm
SPAM (the canned meat) is back, factory working overtime, two shifts. Only Christmas and Thanksgiving off. Remember Monty Pythom and Spamalot? One of the workers said he was glad to be working but doesn't think he could eat it. Before we knew what was in it, used to have Spam and eggs. I guess it's not that healthy but history repeating itself? Gotta keep it on the light side. A little humor helps sometimes.
ok he sounds like he has a sense of humor..LOL.

and now I want to tell you there is an organization called messies.com (I think) - I heard about it five years ago and there is also messies anonymous which is alot like the 12-step program that I heard about.

You can Google the issue - *companies that help messy people get organized*

That's my only suggestion because maybe he's NOT a passive- aggressive and I merely assumed that (?) - If I did, I'm sorry, didn't mean to offend....however, I am not convinced as yet that I did make an error.

I know - sick sense of humor but...

Movie I laughed out loud to most recently was Hostel.  Way creepy movie/plot but still just couldn't stop myself when that girl's eyeball was bouncing off her cheek.

Definitely - Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Road to Wellsville, O Brother, Shrek

at least you've still got a sense of humor
Good luck.
yeah, but EVERYONE has a sense of humor. NM
light up, might feel good again.

Oh, lighten up, SLC stuck in my mind as a nice place
because instead of it smelling like a garbage pile, it was the sweetest smelling place and I thought would just let someone know about it. With all that I have been thinking about regarding my aunt having to go to an assisted living or elsewhere, SLC was just a pleasant thought instead of a downer.
OK to lighten things up a little, what's your favorite pants to transcribe in??...sm

I love the flannel leisure pants.  I wear a pair that were my husbands, they are so soft and give with the hours of sitting in the chair!  What's your favorite, most comfy work attire?

I do "dress up" some too.  I like to change it up, some days with jeans, some days even with dress pants and a nice top and even a little makeup, just to feel like I am a girl!

Methinks you need to find a sense of humor
.
You've got a great sense of humor!...sm

There must be some way to put parental control/lock on that computer so the kid can't access those tawdry sites. He's probably smarter than us and can hack into the pentagon's computer by now!  Cat

Ladies, just a joke, some humor thrown into a mostly unfulfilling job we do
I thought we were all adults here. I know others have experienced similar things and if I offended you, then I apologize. I find nothing that I posted risque and things I have seen on here much more unprofessional than this. Such simple things as hanging clothing out on clothes lines wind up in people being uncivil to others. If the moderator finds it offensive, then they can take it down. I have no problem with what I said and sorry if you do. Life happens and this was just things I thought of in mine.
lol, and who knew Madame Tussaud had a sense of humor ; ) (inside)

Next Friday
it's in stores. I'm going to buy it. I have tried everything including hypnotism and exercising my behind off to lose weight and just can't get rid of the fat. Also doing low carb and still can't lose weight. I'm counting down the days to buy Alli. Never tried Xenical but it's half the dose of it so it still should work. I'm desperate. I am in a wedding in Sept and need to lose a lot of weight in the next 3 months.
Friday
Home made chicken pot pies for dinner tonight. It's so chilly outside today. Plus, I can easily toss it in the crock pot during lunch. :)
It's Friday - Yay !!
Let's have a little fun. Name 3 things most people would be surprised to know about you. I'll start.
1. I love alternative music even though I'm in my late 40s.
2. I like animals more than most people.
3. I always wanted to be a singer as a career but cannot sing.

It's Friday but what the hey? sm

Friday!

You better get going!!   My suggestion would be to pick out clothes that will take you from now until you get where you're going - I assume that will be sometime Sunday maybe.  Pack those in a suitcase and set it aside to live out of until you get to your final destination.  Leave one box out for linens, towels, etc. that are going to be used until then and those will just have to get packed dirty Friday am.

Get paper plates, cups, plastic forks, etc. and start using those so you can pack the kitchen.

Start packing literally everything else and stack the boxes in a corner.   You essentially need to be off work from now on to get this done.  Box up the computer so you won't be tempted.  Pick a room and start at one end of the room.  Have a designed "no way is this moving with me" spot and put discards there to be donated or whatever you're going to do with them.   I hope you have your boxes.  If you can't get any from grocery stores, etc., you may need to purchase them from a Uhaul store, or some place.

Like the other poster said, if you have pets, have a plan for them on moving day.  Either crate them early or put them in a room with a sign on the door or something so they don't get lost or stressed out.

Good luck and safe travels.

No Black Friday
No Black Friday thing this year because I didn't see anything that jumped out at me in the sale papers....until dh told me about Walmart's secret items that they just found out about on Wednesday. They had a computer tower, mouse and keyboard for 148 bucks. (you had to supply your own monitor). I thought they would be great for the boys. It was one to a customer so I recruited Kristi (my 19 year) to come with me. I was up and out the door at 3:30, planning to pick Kristi up and be in line by 4 for the 5am sale. Walmart had their greeters handing out maps so that you could find the sale items and get in the right line. I was all over that store because these computers were not where the map said they were. I asked lots of associates and got pointed in lots of directions and I was MOVING man! LOL Kristi was like, MOM, it's 4 in the morning, slow down. You have to forgive her, she's never been to a Black Friday sale. I teased her that she should be able to keep up with an old lady. LOL

Finally, I'm back to the place on the map, with a huge sign pointing down to where those computers are supposed to be and flag down a manager, who goes in the back and checks. He comes back out to me and says that they never got any!!! What??? You never got any?? And he says there are no rainchecks either since they never got them. What?????

So that was the end of that. I did end up getting, on a whim, two gamer chairs...the last two they had. They were on sale for less than half of what they usually are. I NEVER buy things on a whim, but I figured if I bought them and decided it wasn't a good idea, I could always return them. If I didn't buy them and THEN decided it WAS a good idea, I'd be kicking myself.

At least I didn't walk out of there with nothing so that the entire trip wasn't a waste, right?? LOL

If you went to the sales in the wee hours of the morning, how did you do? Did you get what you went for?

School out on Friday in MS.....wish they

Black Friday
My husband and I always shop on Black Friday, but if there's something we really want he goes out at about 4:00-5:00 in the morning to get it and then comes back to get me at around 9:00. I'm not a morning person at all. I usually don't go to bed unti 4:00 a.m. because of work so the thought of getting up that early doesn't appeal to me. We leave the kids at my parents where we spend Thanksgiving. Then we go out to a fantastic Greek Restaurant for lunch then back to grandma and grandpa and then travel back home an hour away. Then the next day it's off to cut down our Christmas tree.
black friday
I went one time...and won't do it again.  I guess it would be better if I had someone to go with, but even then it gets crazy!  Good luck to you!  I will stay at home on Black Friday & shop online!
Black Friday

Where did you go?

What time you started?

What did you buy?

Yes, i'm very nosey.

BLACK FRIDAY
Stayed home just relaxing -- when I heard earlier on NPR that a Wal-Mart employee was trampled to death when a crowd of early shoppers pushed in the front doors! They said the store was on Long Island, but gave no town. Guess what? I grew up on Long Island (that's NY) but have lived in Maine for years -- haven't seen a crowd yet! Bargains will still be there tomorrow.
Rosie

I never go out on Black Friday...SM
We live in an unstable environment, I feel at least.  And I woudlnt feel safe going to a store on this day.  In fact, I do all my shopping before Thanksgiving, mainly just to avoid lines, crowds, and out of stocks, but in the last few years I also have to safety into my mix of reasons for my early shopping.  Crazy world!!
Black Friday

I never go out on Black Friday.  Of course, this year I had a little help staying home....a terrible cold, which also made Thanksgiving less enjoyable.  Feeling a little better, but still in bed.

I know people who live for this day.  Sorry, I don't care how good the sale is, it ain't worth it.

Black Friday....

I don't bother with it. I'm at the point in my life now where if I want it or need to get it as a present, I'm not real concerned with how much it is. I would rather sleep in, take a leisurely drive to the store (or shop on line), buy it and if it's on sale great; if not, oh well, makes no difference to me. My last Black Friday purchases were Cabbage Patch dolls (the FIRST incarnation of them many years ago) for my daughters. That was enough for me.

Actually, something very exciting for Friday
YooHoo, banner day. I am supposed to receive my very first full retirement check then. I am sooooooooo excited.
I had a miscarriage Friday night...sm

8 weeks into the pregnancy.  Yesterday I e-mailed my friends/family the entries I had made in a journal starting the day after I found out I was pregnant.  If you're interested in reading the various emotions that I've (and others that have been through a similar situation) been through then keep reading (Rick is my husband, Kyley is my stepdaughter and Kerstin is our foster child we're adopting)....

October 21, 2006:

Yesterday we found out that we were going to be your parents.  Your dad & I were VERY excited when the home pregnancy test was positive & later in the day Dr. Desai confirmed that I am 4-5 weeks pregnant with you.  I've had dreams for a couple of months that we had a baby and for the past 2 weeks I've had dreams every night about having you & your being at various ages from pregnancy to newborn to toddler age.  I fully believe God was telling me through my creams that you were already growing in me & I didn't realize it yet.

I love your dad VERY much & we very much want you and have planned for you from the day we got married.  We haven’t told anyone else about you except for my friend Lisa but will tell the others soon.  We know that everyone will be excited to know that you’re joining our family.

Over the past week I’ve had a few times where I felt like you do when you go over a dip in the road too fast.  I know these sensations are you moving around in my womb.  Dad is already rubbing my tummy & talking to you because we want you to know how much we love you.  I love saying things to you & rubbing my belly as well – it feels so good knowing you’re in there – God’s gift to us.  We love you!   Mom

October 22nd:

Today we told Kyley, Kerstin, grandparents, aunts & uncles about you.  Everyone is excited & eager to meet you next summer.  Kerstin was so happy she danced & kept screaming “we’re going to have a baby!” then asked me to take her to Target to buy you some things.  She wanted to buy you a lot of things but I told her that we had to hold off a little bit as we could get somethings now & more later.  I love you, baby Oldham!   Mom

October 23rd:

Today we told our friends about you.  They’re all eager to meet you in the future!  For lunch I had Spaghetti-O’s and about an hour later I could feel you moving all around – so I think you like them!

Kertsin likes talking to you & telling you that she loves you whether you’re a boy or a girl – but she thinks she wants a brother.  We’ll see as time progresses. Love, Mom.

October 25th:

Kerstin stopped people in the hallways at choir tonight telling them about you.  We’re so excited!

October 29th:

We had a busy weekend, baby.  Your nana sent you some booties.  We went to Kerstin’s soccer game, the Smyrna Jonquil Festival, church & Drew’s soccer game and and didn’t  make me feel sick at all.  However, some Wendy’s french fries with supper didn’t settle well with indigestion agalore.  Dad & I love you & are excited that this week you grow arms, legs, eye rims, intestines & pancreas.  You’ll be quite busy for sure!  Love, Mom.

October 30th:

Hello sweetheart!  I continue to have occasional sensations of you & love every minute of it & knowing you’re growing inside of me.  You are very much loved by me, your dad and sisters.  Love forever, Mom.

October 31st:

We had our 1st Halloween with your being a part of our family.  While at the church fall festival tonight Rick & I looked at the babies there & commented that next year you’ll be 4 months old by then.  We can’t wait to dress you up & show you off!

Your dad has given me 2 very sweet toy stuffed baby dolls to remind me of your coming in the future.  Your have a GREAT dad who is very excited to have you growing in me.  We all love you very much!  Love, Mom.

November 2nd:

Hi angel from God!  I love you & want you to know that you are a true gift from God to your dad & myself.  We love you immensely.  Love, Mom.

November 5th:

Hi Sweetie!  You’re entering your 7th week of growth.  This week you’ll start developing your fingers, toes, eyes, ears, nose, intestines, & teeth.  Dad & I are very excited thinking about seeing you on ultrasound on the 13th. We love you immensely & look forward to being your Mom & Dad.  Love, Mom

November 7th:

Hello honey!  I’ve had yet another wonderful day with you continuing to grow inside of me.  I still have indigestion after eating & occasional flutter sensations, but both are neat because I know that they come from you.  Dad & I love you VERY much!   Love, Mom

November 9th:

Hi “Baby O” – life has been great this week knowing you’re working hard at growing to be an incredible child.  Your dad & I went to an OB class at the doctor’s office tonight where they talked about your upcoming arrival.  We both love you VERY much & look forward to your 1st photograph on Monday.  Love, Mom.

November 11th:

Little angel, we had a good day today.  Dad, Kyley, Kerstin & I went to the zoo & we look forward to taking you there in the future.  Dad & I went to Hobby Lobby where dad picked the softest yarn for me to make you an afghan with.  I started this project tonight.  You’ve had a busy week with all of the growing you had scheduled to complete.  In 2 days we get to see how well you’re doing.  We love you!  Mom & Dad

November 13th:

Hello honey, we went to the doctor’s office today for the ultrasound & found out that you’re not as big as we expected.  They drew lab work on me & will repeat it on Wednesday to see if you’re OK.  Dad & I are trying to not worry & remember that your life is in God’s hands.  We’re praying that He hasn’t called you to heaven & that you’ll continue to be with us still here on earth.  We love you sweetie.  Love, Mom

November 14th:

Little angel, Dad & I were at the doctor’s office again today because I started having some bleeding this morning.  Dr. Morell & the staff were great & sympathetic, and it’s too early to know what will happen.  The good news is that you are still in me.  I’ll go back tomorrow for more blood work.  They’ve put me at bedrest for a couple of days.  Dad dreamed last night that you were OK so we’re trying to stay positive with that & my dreams I’ve had before & after we found out that I was  pregnant & you were fine.   You’re in God’s hands now for the final outcome.  We love you honey.  Love always, Mom.

November 15th:

Hello sweetie!  We found out that yesterday’s HCG level was good & high.  Tomorrow we get the results of the Monday & today’s tests.  We continue to hop & pray that the numbers are going up.  I didn’t work today.  The bleeding is less but still present.  We’re still rooting for you honey.  We love you very much!  Love, Mom

November 16th:

Hi honey!  We found out this morning that my lab work was inconclusive  so they’re repeating the HCG tomorrow.  We’ve got a lot of people praying for you, Dad & I that you’ll continue to grow & this scare will end soon.  I did work today but was able to take breaks to rest & didn’t do much of anything else.  Dad & I love you tons.  Love, Mom

November 18th:

Hello little angel in heaven.  Dad & I were devastated to find out that you will not be joining us here on earth but instead are already in heaven on yesterday.  Please know that we both loved you while you were in my womb & look forward to the day in our future when we meet you in heaven.  We love you,  Mom

Black Friday Purchase
I didn't get up, but my DH was out of the house by 4:00 to get to Walmart. He actually said it was pretty civilized although it was mobbed. He ended up getting a portable DVD player for our daughter for Christmas and picked up a second one for a friend who didn't want to tackle the crowds. It was on sale for just $50. We did go out after (around 10:00 and got a few more bargains.
Oh dear. SD is having surgery Friday. SM
She already has had thyroid cancer with metastatic nodes, which she survived at 18. Very traumatic.

Now I'm nervous, because I was afraid of throat swelling and this surgeon sounds much too cocky.

I'm sure she will be fine. Just worrying. She is very sweet and I think of her as my own daughter.
It is Friday - going to Reno next week

It is Friday and I am leaving Weds for Reno to see Brooks and Dunn in concert on Thursday.  First vacation since last May when I took two days off for my birthday.  This is the only downside of having your own accounts.   But to me still worth it even with all the hectic time before I leave on Weds.

Ihaven't had a *Friday* in 3 weeks!

My Friday is Sunday, end of the pay period.
x
I just heard on Friday that one of the states out
west is considering paying the mother $500 to carry her child to term rather than have an abortion!!! They feel the mother will want the money and carry the child. When will this madness end?
Already bought twice since Friday. Bless them.
x
I only did the Black Friday thing once
and that was enough insanity for me.  DD just left to go with some friends and I said "Have fun!"  I have to work anyway, but wouldn't go even I didn't.  Unfortunately, I have to venture out tomorrow to get groceries.  I know what the stores will be like for the next few weeks.
I did black Friday shopping ONCE and never again.
I had three young kids in tow, which was my first mistake. It was OK. We did have fun with all the little freebies and eating breakfast out. However, the crowds and rudeness just ticked me off. The stores are always out of the good deals by the time we get there. The rest of the deals are no better than I can find any other day. And the people shoving each other around just to get something free, which most of the stores don't give nice freebies any more anyway. We usually never have money at Thanksgiving either.

It's snowing here today, so I'm in homebody cleaning mode, too. I've got a fridge full of leftovers from turkey day. The kids are playing board games and DH is puttering around the house. They're playing Christmas music on the stereo. I've got plenty of extra work I'm doing to earn money for Christmas. Yes, it's a good day to be home.
Friday's packrat post

We live on the outskirts of town, lots of outside rodents - squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks, etc.  I went to clean out my daughter's closet, and up on the shelf in a shoebox I found a huge stash of dog food (we have two dogs).  When cleaning out our linen closet (the bottom of which we use to store plastic handle bags from stores), I found another huge stash of dog food, and also the handle bags, which I roll up into balls and tuck in so they won't unroll, a bunch of them were very neatly stacked up in the far corner in back of the closet.  No one I know would stack them back there, where you would have to get down on your hands and knees to reach.  It was downright eerie!!

We've got to do something. In the evening we can hear all this skittering over our heads (no attic, just a crawlspace with insulation) and I keep expecting something to drop through the ceiling onto our heads. Creepy.

The last time we put down poison, one evidently died under our bedroom and really stunk the place up for about a week.  I tell you, at this point, I'd almost be willing to go through that again!
