Drusens, did the ophthalmologist tell you

Posted By: SallySue on 2009-05-09
In Reply to: Yes, I finally went to the ophthalmologist - and it is not glaucoma or edema..

about things to do because I was told about this also. My father had but waited too late about checking out, he thought needed to change glasses. I was told to: Eat green leafy vegetables, love those, take eye vitamin each day, wear sunglasses when out (was doing that anyway every time), no smoking and don’t do that. By doing those can help somewhat. This was picked up by physician, no problems prior to that nor since. I was never told I had high intraocular pressure at any time.

Yes, I finally went to the ophthalmologist
It is drusen... not good news... will lose central vision sooner or later... Ask your doctor to check this out.. They have to keep watch on it through regular check ups..There are no signs or symptoms, except found on eye exam, and there is no cure. Please look into it. Good luck to you!
I work in an ophthalmologist's office.
I am not a doctor, but have seen people come in with the same symptoms... dx'd with ophthalmic migraine. It can happen repeatedly with/without headache. Usually lasts 20 to 30 mins, one eye.. There is lots of info if you Google ophthalmic migraine.

No, mine is elevated IOP without optic nerve change. I was just to see an ophthalmologist who
actually is from Wills Eye.  It is not to the point of doing anything now.
