Dyson

I have a Dyson Animal (2 dogs and a cat) and would never buy another vacuum. I bought it refurbished off Amazon $329 out the door with free shipping and handling, and when it arrived, you'd never know it was anything but new. I have had a Kirby, Kenmore, Fantom Rainbow, Hoover, and several other vacuums over the years, and by far, this is the best I've ever owned. It is well worth the $$$!!!

Dyson is the best!
I bought a Dyson over a year ago, and it is the best vacuum I have ever used. I grew up with an Electrolux canister, and it was awful. My grandma had a Kirby, which was very heavy and difficult to maneuver but did a good job. I have three cats and a a dog and there is hair everywhere. The Dyson does the best job of any vacuum I have ever tried on the hair. It is unstoppable and does a teriffic job. It's worth every penny, and I'd buy another one definitely.
I think Dyson
Dyson will be my next cleaner. In 1981, I got a Kirby and LOVED it.. It has now died - we were quite abusive to it. . I'm not sure the newer Kirby's are as good though so I like what I hear about Dyson. My daughter has one and really likes it.
I think Dyson is rated well unless
you have pets. None of the bagless ones are great for pet hair, and Dyson is bagless. I believe the Kenmore Progressive rated well. I have one, and it worked well when it was new, but it is currently broken 2 ways. It is the cannister type, and cannister types supposedly have great suction. My parents paid a lot more for their Electrolux, and my Progressive rates higher. Maybe I'm just rough on vacuums, LOL. But at least you can roll the wheels over the cord without stripping it down to the wires like on my previous Kenmore, LOL.
Have you considered Dyson? sm

We have had a Dyson for about four or five years now, and I adore it.  You just would not believe what all it picks up.  Hubby and I both have allergies AND indoor cats, and if we use the Dyson as often as we should, we can tell a significant difference.  We bought ours after trying a friends.  They are lighter weight than the Rainbows and Kirbys, and also have an added advantage of being significantly cheaper.  Just a thought.

Dyson, hands down (sm)

I've had a Dyson now for oh, 4-5 years, just the plain old base model, and it is beyond fabulous.  You know how the "big" vacuum sales people will come in and do demos in your house, getting more dirt than you knew existed out of things you thought were clean?  Well, my Dyson does that...and it cost a whole lot less.  I'd put it up against a Kirby or Rainbow any day.

Hope this helps.

Love my Dyson!
x
Dyson! It hurt the pocketbook but I'm
Best vac I have ever had.
Dyson is great on pet hair!
I bought my Dyson specifically for the pet hair problem, and it is fantastic on it! It is bagless. I don't know where you get the idea that bagless vacs are not good with pet hair. The Dyson is the bomb!
I have 2 dyson animal models - love them

I have one of the original ones, and then bought another one a few months ago, the newer animal model.  I have a 3 story house so it's nice not to have to lug the vacuum up and down stairs all the time.  They are by far the best vacuum you can buy and well worth the money.

My Dyson vacuum followed by a Swiffer keeps my blinds cleaned..
But that's more maintenance. The best way to get them really clean is to take them down and wash them in the tub.
