I love my Farberware. Stainless also.
,,
My mom gave me a set of Farberware as a wedding gift 25 yrs ago, but
until I read your question and thought about the answer, I hadn't realized that I only use two of those pots! I use the largest saucepan and the large 6-qt pot. Everything else had cracked handles that fell off over the years. I had a large fry pan in that set, and I think because I replaced with better quality, I stored that away for my kids to use when they move out.
I have a mish-mash of cooking gear, because I've found that no one set can do everything that I need. I love to cook, so I have a collection of things. I own two All-Clad fry pans, a 10-inch and an 8-inch. I love those! Nothing sticks to them. I also have a large, deep cast iron fryer that inherited. It's perfectly seasoned after all these years of use and nothing sticks to that, either. I also have a porcelain-clad cast iron dutch oven (similar to Le Creuset) that I inherited from a great-aunt. I've bought some nifty little saucepans at Target in the sizes that I needed. I think they had a Target brand on them, but they had a double bottom, stainless, with glass lid. I also have a collection of large stockpots that came to me from my grandmother, and I use those for canning and making home-made stocks, tomato sauce and pretty much anything else I can cram in them.

For me, I have just kept my eyes out. I NEVER buy anything nonstick anymore. Even the one expensive pan I bought that claimed to be non-stick all the way through was a waste and ended up losing it's finish. I don't trust the stuff, as I'm sure it gets into food. Cast iron is fabulous and cheap, but it takes some time to get a good seasoned finish on it. For frying, I like pans that have an aluminum core (best heat conductor) but stainless clad on outside. I found some great sales on my All-clad pans, but there are similar quality pans to be found at various prices.
