Granted, not everyone is as sharp as they - sm

In Reply to: I am so tired of hearing how people fall for scams - Sick of it all

should be about scams, but whenever times start to get hard, the flim-flam men come out of the woodwork. Recently in Oakland, 4 police officers were gunned down by a criminal. Their funeral was just a few days ago. Now there is a scam artist going to people claiming he is collecting money to 'help the families of the fallen officers'. And then he pockets it. Kind people just wanting to help get taken in.

Almost all of us wish we could make some extra, easy money at one time or another. And nowadays I think more people wish that than not. But most of the time, though, there's just no such thing as 'easy money'. But there will always be optimists and gamblers who feel some chances are worth taking, if they'll come out ahead in the end, and those people are of course EXACTLY who the flim-flam men & women are looking for.

I think the best rule of thumb during hard times or good times, is: If it seems to good to be true, it is. And NEVER put money up front for anything. And most CERTAINLY never put out money to an employer or an agent for a job. (I fell for that back in the 1970s, and was scammed big-time).

I think it means sharp tap.
Kind of like a teacher might do on her desk to get the class' attention.
Need sharp MT mind inputs. What would you do? sm

I just love some of the advice given here, and I need a little help.  Some of you will probably think I'm crazy, but here goes.

Okay, haven't seen my brother and his family in years. We are 3 hrs from gulf of Mexico (Panhandle area). For those of you who vacation a lot would you: A. Choose a condo that is a little pricey because of space and amenities or B. Opt for a much cheaper place, smaller place, a few amenities because of price?  I'm not really sure what to do.  All of the bookings are up to me.  There will be 8 of us - both places can sleep 8 with the first one sleeping 8 comfortably.

The 1st place sits right on the beach, the 2nd place sits on a golf course.  Both men (husband and brother) LOVE to golf.

I have a few condo owners awaiting my response and I have no clue which one to go with!

What would you do? I'm thinking if I opt for the cheaper place then that would leave a little more room for food and extras...I can't decide!!! I know this is not a life or death question - but I want everyone going to have a great time...and I'm agonizing over my decision!!

If your scissors aren't sharp enough, you can end up
literally sawing them off, which DOES hurt. (Trust me.)

I have also tied a thread tightly around the base, which cuts off the blood flow and they will die and fall off in a few days without pain.
Wow sharp response, sorry I asked but others have been great!
No, what you have here is a fully experienced professional with wanting to accept a job offer before Christmas so his family can relax a bit since there are none in his chosen field around here. Add to that a mother-in-law who is worried but afraid to step on toes to help,ie., me,  that's all it is. The rest is because it's a new company with a great new product which went from mail order sales and Internet sales to deserving a salesman showing up in person with samples which are very heavy and cumbersome (building field), so don't judge me, please. And don't judge him or anyone else, like everyone else here, we're all in the same lifeboat, just asking for support. We all get there sometimes, sorry I bothered your pretty little head with such nonsense (in your mind). Others E-mailed me with other great suggestions. God Bless You for such a Merry Christmas Response. Wow - kick 'em when they're down! Congratulations!
I wouldn't call them sharp replies. But sometimes

You took action.  That is good.  But I don't feel bad for someone who knows they aren't getting work and do nothing about it for months on end.

It's like putting your hand in fire and saying *ow this is hot* but then you don't take your hand out of the fire.  It makes no sense.

I raised 2 kids on my own, as my ex decided he would rather drink and carry on and act like a teenager his whole life.  I HAD to take action.  I couldn't just sit and suck my thumb and cry.

But if someone wants to wallow in their misery, then that is on them.  No pity here.

The OP asked for opinions, unfortunately not everyone is going to say what she wants to hear.

Again, why did she just sit when work wasn't coming in?  So she had 4 paychecks to realize things weren't going too good.

Well, sorry that the MTSO is greedy and does have work and does not pay well, but then if one keeps taking it, then whose fault is it?

Did you sit on your duff?   No.  You are doing what it takes.  That is what the OP needs to do.

sharp cheddar cheese, some minced onions, maybe some sour cream
if you like with the white sauce. Also, I use Velveeta cheese, about half the large brick.  Don't forget to put salt in the water while cooking the macaroni too.
we add some monterey jack, cream cheese to velveeta and some sharp cheddar...nm

Your wish is granted! Unfortunately, due to bad weather and no sight of improvement, you are indefinitely stranded mid-flight at an airport where you are spending your holidays with the others who were on the flight. Basically, you are stranded with a large group of loud and hormone-filled young adults, the Girlz Gon Wild crew (what is this spring break?!) and a few babies with colic. How long will you have to hang out with this croud?! Aloha, baby! :)

I wish for a worry-free, stree-free day of relaxation.

I wish we'll have snow on Christmas! :)

your wish is granted
Unfortunately it is all dictated by a mumbling person who does not have a good grasp of the English language, plus is not prepared, so has to look through all of his notes, so that a 2000 second job will yield 10 lines, and there are 10 of these jobs just for you.

I want sunshine and no snow.
Your wish is granted.
You will have sunshine and no snow, but you will have a tornado instead, which will pick your entire house up and set you back down in Alaska, where you will have more snow than you can handle.

I want the HGTV guys to come do a makeover on my kitchen.
Your wish is granted...
Unfortunately, they arived two weeks before schedule. You had spent the whole night transcribing..your eyes were bulged and red, you had a twitch from listening to ESL dictators, your hindpart was sore from sitting - they thought they walked into an unknown cave. Bravo! They declared, and decided what should take two days would now take seven. They paraded family and friends through your house, the camera catching your every move. Finally, when it was time to air the show they named it "How not to design your house" followed by a picture of you yelling at your computer. BTW, you know live amongst circles (Sphere shapes are in this year).

I wish for a Free shopping spree.
Your wish is granted....

Congratulations on your free shopping spree....I love the 90-inch plasma tv, the beautiful new wardrobe of clothing, the awesome selection of dvd's, the wonderful new cookware, (the list goes on and on)....Unfortunately, there was a slight error with your game piece...you were one digit off from the actual winning number, so all of your items that you chose will go to the real winner *ME* but as a consolation prize for being such a great sport we will give you a year's supply of JollyTime popcorn! LOL!

I wish for a brand new home, newly built! :)

Your wish is granted.......
CONGRATS on your new home built on the side of a mountain with a gorgeous view and just in time for Christmas and all your Christmas guests. Unfortunately, with all the beautiful snow melting and the weight of all your excited Christmas guests, your gorgeous new home slid off its foundation on Christmas day and now sits in crumbles in a creek at the bottom of that beautiful view.

i wish to find a love in my life that will make me happy.
Your wish is granted....
You have found, Sam, the man of your dreams and he is absolutely perfect in just about every way...there is just one small problem, he was born Samantha. :)

I wish for a month-long European vacation.
Your wish is granted!
You're a peein'! But I can't imagine WHY in the world you'd wish for a bladder control problem.

I wish for lifetime maid service.
Your wish will be granted!

Snow falls upon your yard and home, how beautiful it is! Unfortunately, the roof caved in right on top of the Christmas tree and presents. Squirrels have scampered in and attacked the breakfast table with a vengence, Johnny's having a cow because his brand new PSP is buried in snow, and your husband hands you the snow shovel and says, "here it is honey, sorry I can't help cuz the games on!

I wish for a diamond necklace.

Yeah, my DH is like that, granted I don't go looking - sm
to expose my kids and am careful but they went everywhere with me when they were babies (still do of course). My DH would freak if I took them to the store or mall during the winter flu season, etc, don't touch the shopping carts (though he does have a point there) but my kids touched and never got sick. To this day neither one has ever had an ear infection, a couple colds, one had pneumonia briefly, the other strep throat once. But they both recovered quickly and are very healthy. It is just not smart to "protect" your child from everyday contact with germs and people. Funny though after all her ranting to you that she goes to the lion's den, so to speak, for a job. Have you asked her why she would want to work where there are so many germs for her child? Love to hear the answer to that one.
I don't take my life for granted, though. Even though I sounded sm
like a maniac. I love my at-home job - I consistently keep a QA score of 99% or higher - and I'm fast. I am one of a few who can do both, and I don't mean that in a sarcastic way.

I think MTing is a gift. I thank God to be able to do this job from home - screaming kids and all!
