I'm never too busy for my kids....

for having a slap fight with another child before school started.  I will never in all my life forget that.  It was awful and felt even more so because I am female.  I don't know what your daughter did to deserve this, but whatever it is as opposed to paddling she should be asked to write a report on why whatever she did is not appropriate.  It should have to be so many words and so many paragraphs, grammatically correct, and put forth in a positive manner.  I can see her having trust issues with men after this paddling situation especially older male figures in years to come.

I hate to sound judgemental, but your post comes off like you are just way to busy to deal with your children when in fact you are responsible for them until they are 18.  I sure hope she doesn't hold this against you, but that's what I did at first.  I blamed my Mom for letting this man paddle my private area.

you should really do that...keeps a body busy. NM

he can't be too busy if he's able to call that often...lol..nm

Response to Busy MT'ing
Love your post. In fact, I copied and pasted it in a personal folder under "Parenting". Thank you -- it's very clear and concise, EXCELLENT advice.

I'm a single parent of an 11-year-old (my two sons who are 25 and 21 are no longer living with me). My daughter is well behaved (I'll eat my words, I'm sure) right now; but I know that with the preteen and teen years, I'm going to have my hands full w/her.

One more thing I'd like to add to your post is to be sure to watch all computer activity. The Internet is a dangerous place for developing minds if used in a negative manner.

Thanks again!
Right back at ya' busy mt'ing..
May you and yours experience the wonderous joy of the holiday season now and in many years to come!!!
Merry Christmas to you Busy
Thanks.  That was a lovely post.
My SO is too busy working to have many outside interests.
He's a workaholic in the best sense of the word. He has his own company, is passionate about what he does, and looks forward to each day's work. He's too wrapped up in his company right now to do things like hobbies, although he does run each day.
Please explain "too busy"?...nm

That sounds so nice. With teenagers we seem to always be busy
on Sundays. Until just a few weeks ago I could say that 5 out of 7 days we all had dinner together. Both my kids now have after school jobs. Each only work 2-3 days a week but this week the only night we will all be together is Wednesday.
Any creative ideas for keep cats busy?
My cats have plenty of toys and there are two of them so occasionally they'll chase each other around the house, but does anyone have any suggestions for keeping them busy?  I just had to go throw their toys around for a while because they jumped up on the desk and started pushing things off - I guess they were bored!  They are indoor cats and one is overweight.  Any ideas for things they can play with and maybe get some exercise?
yes, the dogs are left outside to run around, right next to a very busy road sm

yesterday i took my son to ball practice to see if he wanted to join.  the friend i talked about in this post, his mom was there.  (i knew the boy played ball, that's why my son wanted to play ball too).  so i told my son that we'd go watch and see if that's what he wants to do.  so i'm sitting there talking with the mom and i told her that i was a little scared of my son playing football because of getting hurt, etc.  that he had already had two broken bones.  she said that her husband (the dad that kicked the dog), has had several broken bones, from wrecks and she said when he was younger, he used to fight (like street fighting type stuff, not boxing).  but she said that he doesn't do that any more, we grow up as we get older.  i thought to myself, i guess he just beats up dogs now.  i'm going to check into what rescue groups are around here.  it's very obvious these dogs don't go to the vet for checkups.  even if there is no child abuse going on, the kids are going to think it's ok to hurt animals.

thanks for your opinions

Bicyclists on busy roads at 5:00PM
I know they've got just as much a right to be on the road on their bicycle as I do in my car, but I wish they wouldn't. If they're on a narrow road and there's lots of traffic coming in both directions, it can sure make for a traffic jam, and I worry about them hitting a rock or something and then flipping off their bike in front of my car.
I agree, mani-pedi! But that day will be busy, so make an appt if you can. nm

Good church being the key phrase. Some are just a treadmill to keep you busy with "busy work"
