Highlights

I know, that is a whole other story.  If you want to look decent you need to go to someone who does good weaves with foil and they way you find someone who can do this right you need to ask when you see someone with hair that you love.  Compliment them and ask if they would mind sharing with you who did theirs.  Be ready to pay, but it is worth every last nickel.  I have seen some horrible looking highlights.  One of my daughters just can't stand not having me do her hair at her back and call and so went out and had it done - her hair is four shades of ugly looking mismatched unnatural colors and it is enough to send you over the edge when you see it.  She now sees why it is worth waiting for.  I do this seldom so it takes a long time and I am not too available most of the time.  The thing is is that if you have it done you can usually only go in three times or so a year for the "main deal" and then in between you can have it colored and touched up a little to keep it nice.  If your hair is light enough you can do this yourself (the touching up part) by asking your colorist what the main color is in your weave and then she or he can tell you how to place it in between or do it for you.  Glad you have someone who can color your hair well.  Don't lose their phone number in case they move to a new salon!

In NJ and $35 for a cut, $85 for color and over $100 for highlights, but
it can get higher depending on how many highlights. I stopped that for a while, but had to go back to just get a few on the top and sides as my color was so blah. I tip her 20% because she also washes my hair and gives a nice massage with my feet up. She also will get me coffee, water or magazines if I want them.
blond highlights at home

My daughter who is blond is going to a wedding and wants her hair highlights around her face "touched up".  I offered to do it to save her spending big bucks at the salon.  Has anyone done this themselves?  I'm going to Sally's later to get the products.  Any tips?  This is not for whole head color, just blond highlights around the face.  Thanks.

Hair color and highlights advice

Does anyone know if you can put a golden blonde color or some kind of a toner over highlighted hair yourself?  I don't like the highlights, too beige-ash colored and also extremely light so it clashes with my natural color (light brown).  But I also do not want it to look dark or be a disastor if I put color on it. Has anyone done this themselves.  I really don't want to go back to this person.  Thanks!

is there a difference between foil highlights and pulling through cap sm

I've had both these done to my hair before.  I'm just wondering, does one dry hair out more than the other?  Seems to me when I have highlights done pulled through the cap, my hair seems dry.

Thanks
